Congratulations to Alex Hein on successfully completing the CPA Common Final Examination (CFE) and earning a place on the Honour Roll, recognizing candidates who achieved results within the top 1% across Canada.

Alex has been working toward this achievement alongside his role at Hobin Architecture, and we’re thrilled to see his hard work, dedication, and commitment recognized at such an impressive level.

With the exam now behind him, Alex will continue completing the remaining practical experience requirements on his path toward earning his CPA designation.

Paddles up!

Last Friday, the Hobin team headed to Dow’s Lake for an after-work summer fun event of kayaking, canoeing, paddleboarding, and soaking up the sun.

A great way to wrap up the week, spend time together, and enjoy one of Ottawa’s best summer spots!

On Saturday, Team Hobin ("The Hobin Beach Buttresses") hit Mooney's Bay Beach for H.O.P.E. Volleyball's 2026 SummerFest, joining around 6,000 participants in support of local Ottawa charities.

More than a day of beach volleyball, HOPE Helping Other People Everywhere, has raised and donated over $4.9 million to 150+ local charities over the years.

We were proud to have been part of this year's event, helping support four incredible organizations: CHEO, Shepherds of Good Hope, the Children's Aid Foundation of Ottawa, and Children at Risk, Ottawa

Thank you to the organizers, volunteers, sponsors, and fellow teams for making it such a memorable day - we can't wait to do it again next year!

A logo is more than a mark. It tells a story.

We're grateful to Aerographics Creative Services and Dave O'Malley for recently revisiting the story behind the Hobin Architecture brand and the evolution of our identity.

As our firm grew, we saw an opportunity to create a brand that reflected not just who we were, but where we were headed. Developed through a collaborative process with Aerographics, involving our entire studio, the Hobin "chop" draws inspiration from architectural tradition while symbolizing the streets, neighbourhoods, and communities that define our work.

It's a reminder that good design extends beyond buildings. It can shape identities, foster collaboration, and reflect the values that guide us every day.

Every city is stronger when people have access to support, dignity, and a sense of belonging.

Organizations like Belong Ottawa play a vital role in our community, providing essential services and compassionate support to individuals experiencing poverty, homelessness, mental illness, and addictions.

We're grateful to see their work highlighted in a recent article from Perspective, which also features our 2026 You Give, We Give campaign. As one of this year's campaign beneficiaries, Belong Ottawa continues to create meaningful impact through programs that support some of our city's most vulnerable residents.

Supporting the communities we serve extends beyond the work we do every day.

Last Friday, members of the Hobin team attended the annual lobster dinner in support of Richelieu International, an organization dedicated to promoting and supporting the French language and culture while strengthening community ties.
