CP Sustainable Carpentry

CP Sustainable Carpentry CP Sustainable Carpentry is an Ottawa based company specializing in renovations with an emphasis in Green Building Practices

Who We Are:
We are Chris Smith and Pat Muldoon, long-time Ottawa residents who take great pride in helping you create a space that is comfortable, livable, stylish and sustainable. We started our business nearly 5 years ago after our paths crossed while pursuing the Advanced Housing program at Algonquin College. This esteemed program led by experienced and enthusiastic industry professionals all

owed us to hone our skills in an abundance of building techniques and science, as well as the fundamentals and specifications of Energy Efficient building. Upon completion of this program in 2012, we decided to pursue our own business, CP Sustainable Carpentry, which has since allowed us to use and develop these skills and continue doing what we love in providing high quality services and results we can be proud of. What we do:
We are pleased to offer services which incorporate the skills we have gained in our education and experience including energy-efficient design and assemblies, advanced framing techniques, as well as green building principles, materials, and construction practices. We have experience in a diverse range of projects and would be happy to speak with you about your needs. Our most common projects include bathrooms, kitchens, and basement renovations. In the summer months we cater to a large demand for decks, fences, privacy enclosures and sheds. Increasingly, we are also involved in the renovation of rental income suites. Whatever the project, we are committed to reliable, long-lasting results and excellence in our trade.

A full wrap around deck on a picturesque lake. This project had its challenges - between the elevation at the front, the sheer size and battling the deer flies... still can't beat the location, and one of our favourite projects to date!

The beam across the front of the cottage and along the sides to the back is a true 3 x 10 Douglas Fir beam mounted using galvanized steel brakets onto the existing cinderblock pillars. All other framing and finishing wood materials is Western Red Cedar.
