Growth
613Environmental surpassed my personal expectations quite some time ago. There are a plethora of reasons, hard work probably, maybe a bit of good timing, honesty, humbling word-of-mouth recommendations from Clients with big hearts... The list goes on but wouldn't mean as much as it does without the support of family, most importantly Amanda aka. Mrs. G. - Limestone Acres FarmHer/Owner, Mom and now 613Environmental Admin, CFO and Operations Manager.
This is a big change. Bittersweet even for me because I feel like I understand how difficult a decision this was for Mrs. G. She adored every single one of her farmschool attendees, even on the hard days. Her heart has soared watching them all grow. She glows telling me she was recognized out in the wild (public) by a former or current student, usually those encounters come with a big 'MRS G!!!' and smiles that never end. I digress but her local celebrity status never ceases to amaze me. It used to be, 'are you Tom's son?'....which still happens...but now it's also 'are you Amanda's husband?'
When it comes to work the two of us perform at another level. Combining to form Megazord will no doubt come with a few growing pains but this change will allow for 613Environmental to better serve our community and protect more of our family, friends and neighbours from the hazards of radon gas.
Mr. G
Mrs G. is retiring from Farmschool 🥲
Our program has been running since 2018 and sharing the experience of small farm living with small little farmers has been such a positive and fulfilling time in my life. But life changes, and sometimes in ways you can't expect!
MR. G also runs his own business fighting the battle against radon exposure, and as awareness of its dangers have grown: so has his business. Thus MRS G needs to move her focus to supporting 613Environmental as their new administrator and assist Mr G in growing this empire.
The farming will still continue! Our gardens are expanding this spring, our new farm gate store is currently being renovated to be ready for weekend shopping, and we will still be hosting monthly farmers markets in Kinburn this summer! 👩🌾
*stay tuned for more updates on these topics!*📣
I am also so happy to be able to 'pass the torch' to another farmschool mom to take over and welcome your little farmers to THEIR homestead! Travellers Lane Family Farm will be hosting a drop off program during May & June, and are taking registrations for full time farmschool programming in September. I am so glad this local tradition in agriculture will still be continuing in our community. 💚
May 1st is my last day of class, a bittersweet end to a wonderful chapter in this farmHers journey.
I hope to see the many growing faces of my little farmschoolers in the years ahead, visiting my farmstand or markets and other wonderful events in our community! I sure will miss them. 💔
A heartfelt "Thank You" to all the families who have supported this program here at Limestone Acres for the last 8 years! I hope I have inspired a few more future farmers.
Love Always,
Mrs G 🫶
