🏆 Laurysen Kitchens Finalist Designs

We're delighted to be finalists in 12 categories at the 2026 Greater Ottawa Home Builders' Association Housing Design Awards!

The Seamless Entertainer was selected as a finalist in the Custom Kitchen (251 sq ft or more): Contemporary ($150,000 or less) category, recognizing the work of Ola Elmaghraby alongside Urban Quarry.

Crisp white and deep charcoal cabinetry create a bold, contemporary contrast, with flat-panel doors and long metal pulls keeping every line clean. A generous island, wrapped in a veined white waterfall countertop, anchors the space and offers plenty of room to gather.

🏆 Laurysen Kitchens Finalist Designs

We’re proud to be finalists in 12 categories at the 2026 Greater Ottawa Home Builders' Association Housing Design Awards!

Another entry in the spotlight is Earth and Elegance, a collaboration between Laurysen’s Kristen Weese (.weese.design) and Picasso Custom Homes (). It’s a finalist in the Custom Kitchen (251 sq ft or more): Traditional ($150,000 or less) category.

True to its name, the kitchen balances two distinct moods. Earthy, cumin-stained cabinetry anchors the island and range wall, while a delicate grey with cool green undertones lends quiet sophistication to the surrounding cabinetry. Curved detailing softens the clean lines, and refined hardware completes the serene, composed look.

Light Work, a finalist in the Any Room in the House category, represents another successful collaboration between Caroline Castrucci, Minto Homes Ottawa, and Urban Quarry.

The same Fior di Bosco porcelain from the Cantilever Ensuite, another finalist project from this home, carries through to this modern laundry room, set against cabinetry in a bright, sandy blond oak woodgrain laminate. Integrated lighting and sleek hardware elevate the hardworking space.

🍁 CKCA National Forum Highlights

From October 5–8, Corey Laurysen, Laurysen VP of Sales & Service and Canadian Kitchen Cabinet Association Board Director, spent four packed days in Quebec City and Rimouski, QC, connecting with manufacturers and suppliers from across the country at the CKCA National Forum.

The moments in this slideshow are just a small glimpse of the event’s mix of tours, presentations, and industry discussions. Highlights included touring the 1-million-square-foot Uniboard facility, visiting Miralis’ new, highly automated plant, and seeing the laminate countertop manufacturing process firsthand at Prémoulé’s Postform Countertop site.

It was amazing to see some of our trusted suppliers in action.

If you haven’t explored membership yet, consider joining CKCA!

👏 A special thank you to the following companies for opening their doors and welcoming CKCA members:

Cantilever Ensuite, Caroline Castrucci’s entry with Minto Homes Ottawa and Urban Quarry, is a finalist in the Production Bathroom category, and it shows.

Striking Fior di Bosco porcelain sets the tone, forming a substantial countertop that rises into a backsplash. The white, grey, and golden veining brings natural depth to the room. Below, Ambrosia walnut cabinetry adds warmth to the sculptural vanity: part floating, part grounded. Twin vessel sinks with wall-mounted faucets complete the contemporary look.

🏆 Laurysen Kitchens Finalist Designs

We’re proud to be finalists in 12 categories at the 2026 Greater Ottawa Home Builders' Association's Housing Design Awards!

The Burgundy Jewel Box, a collaboration between Laurysen’s Kristen Weese (.weese.design) and Picasso Custom Homes (), earned its place among the finalists in the Bathroom – Powder Room category.

Deep burgundy panelling envelops the room in rich colour, while a band of Calacatta Viola Italian marble adds a striking wall detail. Warm brass accents catch the light, soft curves add movement, and a dark vanity grounds the space. Every element works together to create a room full of character.
