🌨️ **SERVICE UPDATE (March 29, 3:30 PM)** 🌨️
Hey everyone! Just a quick update on the snow clearing situation. The City of Ottawa is focusing mainly on side streets in most of our areas. They have been seen on the main roads and a few side streets East of Fisher and in the Centerpointe area, just not across the board. We have decided, after much thought and waiting until now, to let some of our operators go home. It is exhausting just sitting in a tractor, waiting, after being up since 2 in the morning! We do still l have several operators out still going through their routes, however, as they finish in their areas we will send them home as well. Our walkway crew are all still out working like crazy to get through this heavy and wet snow. It will take them quite a while to finish all of the walkways. We appreciate your patience.
The most recent update on the City of Ottawa's website says this: "Today, crews will continue to clear and treat sidewalks, priority roads and the winter cycling network. Across the city and where required, crews will move into residential neighbourhoods this morning to clear and treat streets. Supervisors will continue to monitor the conditions of the transportation network throughout the day and into the overnight. As the freezing rain moves in early tomorrow morning, our focus will be monitoring changing conditions and treating sidewalks, priority roads, bus routes, the Transitway and the winter cycling network."
