Planning early means you can enjoy the last weeks of summer without worrying about everything that needs to be done once the seasons change.

The Weeds You Ignore Now May Be Waiting for You Next Year

It's easy to overlook a few weeds in August.

But some weeds are busy doing more than taking up space in your garden beds.

If they're allowed to mature and produce seeds, they can create more work for you in the seasons ahead.

Keeping weeds under control now isn't just about how your property looks today.

It's about managing the work you'll face tomorrow.

A little attention now can help prevent a bigger problem later.

Enjoy today. Get ahead of tomorrow.

Is Your Property Ready for September?

September has a way of arriving quickly.

Before the routines of fall begin, take a look at your property.

Is your lawn in good shape?

Are your gardens under control?

Are there branches that need attention?

Did the summer weather leave behind areas that need repair or cleanup?

Are your walkways and outdoor spaces ready for another season of use?

August is the perfect time to make a plan.

There's still plenty of summer left to enjoy.

But a little preparation now means less scrambling later.

Enjoy today. Get ahead of tomorrow.

What Did Last Month's Heavy Rain Reveal About Your Property?

Last month's heavy rainfall was a reminder of just how quickly water can become a problem.

For some Ottawa homeowners, the rain may have revealed areas of the property where water tends to collect, soil erodes, gardens become saturated, or drainage simply can't keep up.

Once the water recedes, it's easy to forget about those problem areas.

But they are worth remembering.

Take a walk around your property and look for:

Areas where water consistently pooled

Soil that was washed away or displaced

Eroded garden beds or exposed roots

Lawn areas that remained saturated long after the rain stopped

Water flowing toward your home or other structures

Heavy rain can expose issues that aren't always obvious during normal weather.

If you noticed a recurring problem, August is a good time to make a plan before the next major rainfall.

Enjoy today. Get ahead of tomorrow.

Your Garden Isn't Done Yet

August isn't the time to forget about your gardens.

There is still plenty of growing season left, and your garden beds can benefit from a little attention.

Keep an eye on overgrown plants, remove spent blooms where appropriate, manage weeds and watch for plants that may need support.

A little maintenance now helps keep your property looking its best through the rest of summer and makes the transition into fall easier.

You don't have to rush summer away.

Just stay one step ahead.

Enjoy today. Get ahead of tomorrow.

Don't Wait Until Fall to Think About Your Lawn

Fall may still feel a long way off, but your lawn is already telling you what it needs.

August is a good time to take note of areas that struggled through the summer.

Did certain spots dry out? Did the grass thin out? Are weeds becoming more noticeable? Did heavy rain leave some areas soggy or damaged?

Identifying those problem areas now gives you time to plan for the work that can help your lawn recover and prepare for the seasons ahead.

The best time to think about tomorrow is before tomorrow arrives.

Enjoy today. Get ahead of tomorrow.

Your property has been through a lot this summer.

Heat. Heavy rain. Storms. Foot traffic. Fast-growing grass and gardens.

By August, those things can start to show.

Take a walk around your property and look for thinning or worn areas in the lawn, overgrown garden beds, damaged branches, weeds that have taken hold, or areas where water isn't draining as it should.

A little attention now can make a big difference later.

Enjoy today. Get ahead of tomorrow.
