The most important parts of a project are often the ones you never see. Beneath every structure is a foundation built on careful planning, hard work, and countless unseen hours. It’s what lies below the surface that makes everything above it possible.

Throwback to one of Greyback’s key contributions on the W.R. Bennett Bridge project — the graving dock site.

This site laid the groundwork (literally) for the bridge’s floating components. Once each pontoon was completed, the flood gates would open and it would make a short trip down Okanagan Lake into its final position.

Doka Canada was an integral member of the concrete team for our MOVALA project in Kelowna. Our crews were able to maintain productivity thanks to their formwork system and technical team's focus on simplicity, efficiency, and safety.

April is BC Construction Month! 🔨🏗

Greyback is once again honoured to participate in the to celebrate our industry by hosting a lunch for our crew.

This year, we set up a wonderful lunch spread from and at our Greyback Prefabrication shop - a new project/team as of January 2025. The 8200 sqft indoor facility employs 12 full-time workers and is equipped with custom framing tables, an auto-saw, and cranes.

Our Skaha Hills team continues to top the charts in building high-performance homes! For all homes completed in 2024, we achieved a Step 4 rating in the BC Energy Code.

In 2025, we are taking it up to the top level, targeting Step 5 - Net Zero Ready rating, which means our homes will have the ability to produce as much energy as the consumer!

https://www.chba.ca/net-zero/. The BC government has a targeted goal for all new construction to be net-zero ready by 2032. Currently, we are in the top 1% of builders in BC achieving this level of performance. We’ve been able to do this by dialing in our construction assemblies and paying extra attention to the detailing, at minimal added cost.

To achieve Step 5, we are introducing upgrades to windows (triple glazed), insulation, and mechanical systems. However, by taking advantage of current government rebate programs, we will be able to offer a home at the forefront of sustainability, with exceptional energy performance and the ultimate in comfort, at no added cost to the builder or buyer.

LEED Gold!!! 🏆🌎

Congratulations to all involved in the PARC Cristalina project in Kelowna for achieving LEED Gold Certification.

LEED accreditation is an international benchmark that recognizes the building's sustainable design and operation throughout construction and beyond.

Achieving gold status is no small feat. A huge thanks goes out to our team members for their efforts ensuring our site complied with project requirements. Well done, and congrats!! 👏👏
