Wildstone is proud to have recently delivered The Hearth, a permanent supportive housing facility in Whitehorse offering independent living for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness. The project involved the full transformation of the former High Country Inn, including structural upgrades, a complete mechanical and electrical overhaul, full envelope replacement, and reconfiguration of the building into 67 independent housing units.

Safe at Home Society recently received city approval to begin operating the facility, with residents expected to move in by end of June. We are pleased to have supported this project from pre-construction through to completion, and to have delivered a building that will serve the Whitehorse community for years to come.

Congratulations to the Safe at Home Society team on reaching this milestone!

Earlier this month, we had the honour of gathering at the future site of the Dawson City Recreational Centre for a Ground Blessing Ceremony.

Led by Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in First Nation Elder Clara VanBibber, the event brought together community members, project partners, and leadership from Wildstone, the City of Dawson, and the Yukon Government. The ceremony included a land blessing, performances by the Han Singers and Dancers, and live music from Uncle Jimmy and the Hammerstones Band and the Youth Fiddlers Group.

We look forward to delivering a space that serves Dawson City for generations to come.

We're celebrating National Skilled Trades Day! 🚧 And what better way than by looking back at last month's Skills Competition and Expo in Whitehorse.

Students and apprentices from across the Yukon came together to compete, learn, and get hands-on with real trades skills. At our booth, participants got to build their own birdhouse and work through practical construction activities alongside our team, hopefully sparking a long terms interest in trades careers.

That is what this day is really about. Recognizing the skilled professionals who build our communities and investing in the next generation who will carry that work forward.

We love a throwback! The 2026 event is coming up on Sunday, June 14, so make sure you register soon.

At Wildstone, we take our team's safety seriously every single day. Today is a reminder of why.

The Day of Mourning is observed annually on April 28 across Canada to remember workers who have lost their lives due to workplace injuries or occupational diseases. It is a day to reflect, to honour, and to renew our commitment to ensuring safe and healthy workplaces for every worker.

Every precaution taken, every hazard reported, every team member who speaks up, it all makes a difference. More information: https://dayofmourning.bc.ca/

Wildstone is proud to recognize Construction and Skilled Trades Month this April. For us, it comes down to the people who will carry this industry forward.

Programs like our Youth Carpentry Training Program (our recent Dawson City participants pictured here), are one of the ways we are contributing. Through hands on learning, mentorship, and jobsite experience, local community members are gaining practical skills and a clear path into the trades.

As the industry evolves, investing in programs like this helps support the next generation of builders and strengthen the communities we work in!
