Extreme weather exposes rooftop safety systems to steady stress.

Roof surfaces move during freeze cycles and thaw cycles. Wind uplift can shift modular components. Heat can reduce surface traction on older walkways. Under Ontario’s OHSA, any equipment used for work at height must be inspected and maintained to support safe operation. Failing to meet these obligations presents you - and your company - with legal liability.

If a system deteriorates due to weather exposure, it may no longer meet regulatory expectations.

Our advice? Review your system before seasonal conditions intensify. For expert assistance, send us a DM or contact us via our website: https://pulse.ly/pzjmg9lfjp

One system creates a protected environment. The other requires consistent engagement, training and oversight.

Many safety reviews reveal confusion around passive systems such as guardrails and active systems such as harnesses or lifelines. Our latest blog provides a clear breakdown so teams understand what each system demands from the worker, from the facility and from the organisation.

If your rooftop strategy is being updated for the year ahead, this guide will support your decision making.

2026 can be a new chapter for protecting Canadian workers.

All it takes is a combination of awareness and preventative action. As a property manager or owner, the power is in your hands 🫵

Height related injuries remain a steady threat across Canadian facilities, and the need for stronger planning grows every season.

Many incidents share a common theme. They occur in places where teams move quickly, where access is limited and where small hazards build into serious outcomes. Every improvement made now influences the year ahead.

If you’re serious about protecting people, let’s talk: https://pulse.ly/ipsa9qblct

Winter is rapidly approaching. It’s not a question of ‘if’ it will test your safety systems, but ‘when’ ⚠️

Heavy snow and high winds can place thousands of extra pounds of stress on access ladders, guardrails, and walkways. When those systems aren’t engineered for real environmental loads, they can fail when they’re needed most.

Our latest blog explores how snow load and wind exposure affect rooftop safety compliance and what you can do to prepare before winter hits.
