While I'm taking a small break from squaring a bunch of corners, I wanted to show you my new mallet. NTD is great, but this one came from . March is disability awareness month and is raising money for his foundation to help disabled woodworkers.

I do not get anything for sharing this but if you need a mallet, this one is awesome. If you don't, maybe toss a coin to your woodworker (him not me).

Next on the docket is a big project: a set of built-in cabinets with glass-panel doors. The cabinets will run the width of a living room wall, with a thicker top piece that will function as a mantel, since this house has no fireplace.

The drawing for this project required very detailed modeling and measurements — all prep work the client doesn’t see! The finished product will make a huge difference in the space, with dust-free storage for media and a beautiful top surface to display photos and family treasures.

It doesn't look like it but there are about 50 clamps in this picture. This was a big step in the great shop cleanup. saved me a few feet of wall space.

Hi Instagram, long time no see! We've had this photo in the chamber for a while but held back to keep a Christmas surprise. On the left is a wine presenter, with space for two glasses. Made of maple with as many flames as your favourite 59 Les Paul. On the right, a serving board with maple from the same tree, and a Smythe accent stripe in walnut. Light enough to serve one handed but tough enough for a more DIY approach to charcuterie. Maybe using your new knife from ?

part 2. Tops are a long way away but you can see what we're going for here. The extra space at the back means room for some shelving. Mitre saw sits in a depression to help break down long boards.

While we spend the end of summer finishing we thought we'd show everyone one of the projects we've done this summer. What we have here is one of a twin set of planter boxes made for a very special lady. Made to measure; she was thrilled with how they turned out.

It begins. We have worked too long without a proper tool bench. This guy, when finished, will span the entire shop. We'll have more storage, a spot for most of our large machines, and my work tables can stay free of them.

A bright side to the storm from Saturday: coming in 2024, pure maple mallets, literally sourced from my front yard. They don't get much more local than this, folks.

What a difference a good sanding makes. This is both sides of one cut. One is unsanded, the other is up to 220.
