We’re bringing a little more space, function and lakefront living into the picture.

This addition and renovation will include a second-storey primary suite with a walk-in closet, dedicated workspace and bedside lake views (not a bad way to start the day), complete with a new ensuite.

Downstairs, we’re reworking the kitchen and adding a multi-purpose mudroom and laundry space to make everyday living that much easier.

A lot of thoughtful details coming together to make this home work even better for the people who live in it.

Thanks to Salina Marshall for helping us put the details together.

We’re still buzzing after the Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards from last week.

Co-owner, Amy represented us in receiving the award for Skilled Trades.

We’re truly honoured.

This is a testament to the endless work we put into elevating our client experience, the level of teamwork we share with our crew and our industry partners and our efforts in giving back to our community.

Shoutout to Peterborough + Kawarthas Chamber for putting on a wonderful evening and Chemong Lodge for a fantastic meal.

Building a lakefront home is about more than what’s behind the walls.

It’s the setting. The details. The decisions. The coordination. And having a team who sees how it all needs to come together from the very beginning.

That’s where Blackwood Developments comes in.

The living room you didn’t know you needed.

A place to gather after a day on the lake. To warm up by the fire, linger over another glass, and settle in with the people who matter most.

This was a generational cottage, so the goal was never to replace what came before. It was to honour it and make room for what comes next.

A little more room to gather. A little more comfort. And plenty of space for new memories to take their place alongside the old ones.

Somewhere between July and August, this view started taking shape.

Framing is where a house really begins to reveal itself — the rooms, the sightlines, the relationship between the home and the lake.

From the first floor framing to the structure rising above it, this one has been moving quickly behind the scenes.

And yes… we’re a little late sharing it.
But we figured a view like this was worth going back for.

A bedroom that makes you want to slow down.

From the ensuite to the walk-in closet to those water views — every detail was designed to make this space feel like an escape.

This is what happens when a renovation is about more than just making a space look good. It’s about creating a home you genuinely love living in.

A private toilet closet.
And a deep soaker tub made for slowing down.

Every detail of this ensuite was designed to make everyday routines feel a little less routine.
