Another basement floor completed after some water came in.

We installed a dry sump pit for added peace of mind, so any future water can be pumped out quickly to help minimize damage. We also leveled the concrete floor and installed a corrugated membrane to help control moisture and humidity before the new flooring went down.

A little extra protection today can help prevent bigger problems tomorrow.

Vinyl is a great flooring option for basements. However, no matter what flooring you choose, it’s important not to leave water trapped underneath, as this can lead to mold growth. If your basement was flooded, remember to:
• Turn off power to affected areas if electrical equipment was submerged.
• Remove wet items as soon as possible.
• Remove wet drywall and insulation.
• Use fans and dehumidifiers to help prevent mold.
• Take photos and videos of all damage before cleanup for insurance purposes.

Working in older buildings definitely comes with its challenges, but the transformations can be incredibly rewarding. Removing this structural wall completely changed the feel of the space—bringing in more natural light and creating a much more functional layout.
The client did an amazing job preserving the original woodwork, finishing the beams and posts in a way that really honors the character of the building.
