Finally starting to receive the much anticipated equipment. There are still several pieces to arrive yet but hope is on the horizon. So far only one significant breakdown, which was on an older sprayer, so maybe the past year can be a distant memory. 😅 The parts for this unit arrived Friday and will be back in operation this week. All the new equipment has been flawless and a huge step up in functionality, features, and power. Being able to reset the business from past problems was the correct decision.

One big addition last week was the arrival of a second trailer. This allows one trailer to be setup as a designated spray trailer without wasting a day switching back and forth. The second trailer will be used for mowing, tillage, and seeding projects. With both trucks and both trailers my days are going to be a lot more productive and less stressful. The next obvious step may be to find a responsible, trustworthy individual to operate one of the setups.

Mother nature continues to mess with my schedule and at some point you just have to work with it best you can. Currently we have about 300 acres of pasture and commercial spraying which will be performed at night, 150 acres of pasture cutting, 50 acres of complete acreages till and seed, plus the numerous patient acreage owners waiting on w**d spraying. Then we have a few grading jobs that will be slotted in last minute.

Lana must be doing something right with my advertising since I am seeing acreage bookings as far as southwest of Calgary. That may be a hard project to come home from, as it is beautiful country.

Greetings,
As we are finally getting the equipment operational I have a couple of points to suggest.
Since we are growing with numerous new clients and our attempt to be as efficient as possible we are grouping similar jobs together and performing them in groups. For example the gardens in the spring I continue to do, however, only effective if I can do them all at the same time. Otherwise each customer would see the cost triple just to do their's separately. The majority of my clients have requested I wait until next week for this activity therefore none have been done yet and are scheduled for Tuesday through Thursday.
Spraying for acreages is planned for the first week of June. Rotary cutting of dead grass is on next week's list as well. I have a couple of commercial properties in need of grading/leveling so those are planned for next weekend when empty.
It would be of great advantage of my clients, existing and new, to follow my page. I am meeting with my web designer this weekend to initiate the idea of an active planner on the page. This way I can update a single source to communicate the activity schedule and update changes. A lot more efficient versus notifying 50 separate clients and then we are another day behind. Please follow the page to be kept up to date efficiently and effectively.
With that said I will still be reaching out to those waiting for gardens to verify if they are still on the list.
A 50 foot spreader and an 84" Box Blade should be arriving next week allowing me to complete the pasture and acreage seeding projects the week after.

Just a quick post for an update until i meet with Lana for a proper Ad. The equipment started to trickle in on the long weekend. After some prep work required for all of it on Tuesday and Wednesday we have a few pieces to start working with.

The garden Tilling is still on the list for next week since most clients are still waiting for their garden to dry up and warm up.

I would encourage anyone with tall dead grass they wish cut down to reduce fire hazard and promote new growth please call to arrange for cutting.

Acreage spraying is looking like a June start. Yes some w**ds are blooming but if sprayed too early you will be disappointed once we get rain and heat as the new growth will surface.

It has been a long time coming....
With the previous equipment meeting it's fate in March.
The new equipment sourced and ordered in March and April.
Only the tractor was delivered in April and currently at the dealership for final options getting installed this week.
Next week, May 19th???. I will have the tractor back, add one day to run through my shop for the final setup.
The Rototiller, Rotary Cutter, and Land Plane should all have the PDI completed at the dealership and delivered with the tractor.
The new 30 foot sprayer, disc, cultivator, and all snow clearing equipment should be arriving in June and July.
A new over deck tilt trailer should be ready for June allowing me to keep one trailer setup for spraying while the second one will be setup for tillage work.
And yes, I have officially outgrown my current shop yard and spreading to a second location nearby. This is on the June calendar.
With the new equipment being 30% - 50% larger this should allow me to keep up with the increasing demand. With that said, all indications in the past month's bookings show many new clients being added this season.

This is one spring that mother nature cooperated with my business plan and looks to be delaying spraying for about 3 weeks, or until the new one arrives. As the new one is mainly for pastures, I still have the 12 and 18 foot sprayers for acreages.

After May long weekend I am not expecting a break in the action until April 2027. Therefore I am taking my much overdue dose of mountain air. Lol

Also, the shop phone has been out of service for over a month now and it has finally been replaced by Telus with a cell phone with the same number yesterday.

It was definitely a bit of a strange Monday today. This morning, the new equipment from 2025 was picked up. That emptied the yard quick. The brighter news is the arrival of the new tractor this afternoon. Now there will be a few weeks getting it setup as required. The new attachments will be arriving over the next one to three months. I am hoping sooner than later. All the replacement equipment is far more robust and larger. The new sprayer is built like a tank and I cannot wait to test it out. Based on the clients that are calling and stopping in at the shop it is gearing up to be an insanely busy season. The best news is we are here for the long term now. The larger properties we gearing up for are increasing at a steady rate. Growing pains may exist until all the equipment arrives and is put to use.
