• Ability to perform daily vehicle inspections and maintain equipment
• Experience operating in construction and excavation environments is considered an asset

This foundation repair and waterproofing project definitely threw us for a loop.

We fully exposed the foundation, cleaned the walls, repaired cracks where needed, then applied sealer primer, Blueskin membrane, and Platon for long-term protection. We also installed a brand new perimeter foundation drain system.

Once excavated, we discovered the original drain had completely failed. To properly solve the issue, we cored through the footing into the sump basin to create a new drainage path for groundwater to reach the sump pump system, then trenched in a new outlet line to safely discharge the water away from the home.

To finish things off, we reinstated all disturbed lawn areas with fresh screened topsoil and grass seed leaving the property clean and ready to grow back in.

Fresh gravel across the entire lot and a full regrade with the tracked skidsteer—no more puddles, just a clean, smooth finish.

We’ve been keeping busy at our shop the last couple weeks getting everything dialed in and ready to hit the ground running once this awful rain lets up and things start to dry out.

One project that’s been getting a lot of attention is the continued restoration of our tandem dump truck. This one means a lot to us and hits close to the heart. It was the first “big” truck we ever bought when we were just getting started. A lot of long days, learning curves, and early growth in this company came with that truck, so bringing it back isn’t just another project… it’s personal.

Over the past while we’ve:
• Rebuilt the engine and transmission
• Gone through all the suspension
• Swapped in a donor cab
• Installed a new dump box

Last week the guys wrapped up painting the frame and box, and it’s looking sharp. Next step is sending it off to a good friend of ours to have the cab and hood professionally painted which is the final step in bringing this 1995 truck back to like-new condition.

Big thanks to everyone who’s had a hand in this one. A lot of time, effort and money has gone into it, and it’s pretty special seeing where it started and where it’s at now.

A piece of our story coming back to life. 👊

Another quick turnaround from the crew last week at the Mallorytown North ONroute.

Over the winter, a transport truck took out one of the parking lot sign posts. We were brought in to remove the damaged post, install a new one, and get the sign remounted properly.

Simple job on paper, but like anything, it’s all about doing it right.

Big shoutout to the crew for knocking this one out clean and efficient.

Back to looking the way it should and
on to the next one. 👊

Landex Paint & Body is once again open for business for its usual 2-3 weeks per year. The only catch is we only do this work on our own stuff 😂🎨

After years of hard work, our Mack tri-axle was looking… well… like it’s seen a few seasons (and then some). The dump box was in desperate need of some love, so the boys rolled up their sleeves and got to work.

And honestly… they knocked it out of the park.

Fresh paint, cleaned up right, and looking really good. It’s got us feeling a renewed sense of pride in what was actually our first tri-axle. The one that helped build this company from the ground up.

Not bad for a bunch of dirt workers, eh? 😂

Huge credit to the crew for taking the time to do it right. Around here, we don’t just do nice work for our customers. We take pride in our equipment too!

Now she’s back on the road looking sharp and ready for another busy season.

Another work of art… even if it’s just a dump box this time 😎

Johnstown municipal ditch fill-in 2025

Here’s a project from early fall in our 2025 season. We were given the opportunity to complete a drainage improvement project for the Township of Edwardsburgh Cardinal between Elizabeth St. and Mary St. in the Johnstown subdivision.

This project involved filling in an existing open ditch that had fallen into rough shape over the years and replacing it with a more efficient, lower-maintenance drainage system.

✔️ Installed perforated culvert with clear stone backfill to help capture groundwater.
✔️ Surface drains spaced every 100’ to properly collect runoff
✔️ Rip rap installed at both ends to control erosion and clean up the appearance.

The result?

• Improved drainage for surrounding homeowners
• Better surface water management
• A cleaner, more finished look
• Reduced long-term maintenance compared to the old open ditch

Projects like this are about more than moving dirt, they’re about improving infrastructure for the people who live there every day. Proper drainage protects properties, reduces standing water, and keeps everything functioning the way it should.

❄️ January Recap – Snow, Sleep Deprivation & One Heck of a Crew ❄️

January has been an absolute blur for us at Landex Earthworks — endless plowing, nonstop snow hauling, and more late nights than we can count. At this point, our crew honestly isn’t sure what sleeping at night even feels like anymore 😅

All jokes aside, we’re incredibly grateful to be this busy and to have the opportunity to help clean up snow piles all around our community. Keeping lots, and properties safe and passable is no small task, especially during a winter like this.

Huge THANK YOU to our crew for sticking it out through the long hours, early mornings, and overnight pushes. Your dedication, toughness, and teamwork do not go unnoticed — we couldn’t do it without you.

Here’s hoping February lets us catch up on a little sleep… but if not, we’ll keep pushing 💪❄️
