The 22 St. Thomas Street Affordable Housing Development is underway in St. Albert, Alberta! We are working with Homeland Housing Foundation to create this large-scale mixed-use venture. There are 120 residential suites, with the ground floor providing commercial retail spaces. The project focuses on improving the health and well-being of residents through thoughtful and inclusive design strategies.

We recently completed an unusual project for the Fernie Brewing Company in Fernie, BC. The project consists of a new pre-engineered warehouse, with three traditional-construction apartments attached at the rear of the building. They needed a new warehouse, but they also wanted to provide affordable housing opportunities for staff members.

J.P. Fernandez is an Intermediate Technologist who joined our team in May as part of the purchase of the Edmonton firm, Brian Allsopp Architect, and now works in-person in our Kelowna office. He graduated from NAIT in 2019 and has been working in the Okanagan region for the past five years. The Penticton YMCA Child Care Centre project is now complete! This was a project for the City of Penticton in partnership with the YMCA of the Southern Interior BC. It entailed the renovation of an existing space, plus a two-storey stand-alone addition. The centre provides 80 new child care spaces for children ranging in age from infants to school-age, with four new child care rooms, an elevator, washrooms, storage spaces, and two outdoor playgrounds.

Berry Architecture has moved to a new office in Cranbrook! As of June 1st, we are now located at 101 Kootenay Street in their co-working space. Noemie and Carolyne are very pleased with their new spaces, and it is a full circle moment for us since we were the architecture firm for the interior and exterior renovations on the building.

Kaylee Bunbury is our summer student in the Red Deer office. She is a student at NAIT in the Interior Design Technology program and will be starting her second year in the fall. Kaylee joined the team on June 1st for an eight-week stint and will be with us until July 24th.

Sadie Tubello is our student in the Kelowna Office. She attends the University of Calgary in the Bachelor of Design in City Innovation program. Sadie has completed two years and will be entering her third year in the fall. She joined the team on June 15th and will also be with us for eight weeks, finishing on August 11th.
