Last week we made the trip out to Crooked Lake for two tree removals and some pruning work for a wonderful couple. The boys were up at 4:00 AM and on the road early to be on site by 7:00 AM after a two-hour drive.

We got in, got to work, and were out in a FLASH. Two removals, two trees pruned up nicely, complete cleanup, and loaded up by 11:00 AM.

After absolutely crushing the job, we treated the crew to lunch. It was well deserved after knocking out THREE out-of-town days in a row — two full days in Radville and one in Crooked Lake.

The amount of work these guys put in day after day never goes unnoticed. Early mornings, long drives, hard labour, and they still show up ready to go.

These guys are absolute MACHINES. 💪🌳🔥

Crew was up and on the road by 6AM heading out to Radville for a full day of work. Back in the city by 4:45 and straight onto an emergency call from 5–6:30PM 👊🏼

We got all immediate danger handled and the property made safe for the night. Tomorrow we’ll be back to finish the full clean up and get the yard looking right again after another full day in Radville 💪🏼

Busy, busy, busy — but proud of the crew for putting in the long hours and getting it done safely 🔥

They say you can’t have nice things… and honestly sometimes that feels a little too true. Last night someone smashed out the rear driver side window on one of our main rigs.

Thankfully we don’t keep anything valuable in our trucks, but when you run a business these trucks ARE valuable. They’re how we get to jobs, haul equipment, support our families, and keep things moving every single day. Having one down, even for a few hours, definitely slowed us down a bit today.

Thankfully we were able to get it repaired same day and get the truck right back on the road 👊🏼🌲

It’s frustrating working hard for the things you have just for someone to damage them for no reason at all, such a shame.

But one thing about us — a broken window won’t stop the grind for long 💪🏼

Been a little quiet on here lately… but trust us, we’ve still been out WORKING HARD 👊🏼🌲

Between emergency calls, removals, trimming, stump grinding, quotes, and hauling equipment all over the place — we’ve been keeping BUSY as always 😅

It’s honestly crazy to sit back and see how far Mike & Matt’s has come in such a short time 👏🏼🌲

We started this company with a 2009 F150 and a $20,900 trailer that we paid outright for. No fancy setup, no massive fleet — just hard work, long days, sacrifice, and a vision we refused to quit on.

Fast forward to now and it’s wild to see the growth in just two years:
🔥 2025 F250 quoting truck/ work truck hauling our dump trailer or enclosed trailer
🔥 2024 Ford F550 with our built-in Arbortech chip box
🔥 2022 BLUELIFT B72
🔥 2024 Vermeer BC1000XL woodchipper

And of course the 2025 F350 — Christina’s personal truck that’s honestly become just as much a company vehicle as anything else 😂👏🏼 hauling trailers, running equipment, giving employees rides, and helping keep everything moving behind the scenes every single day.

None of this happened overnight. It came from early mornings, late nights, stress, risk, sacrifice, believing in ourselves when things got hard, and pushing forward even when it would’ve been easier to quit.

We’re proud of how far we’ve come — but even more excited for where we’re headed 🌲👊🏼

It’s been absolute chaos the last two days with this windstorm 🌬️🌲
We’ve been so busy running from emergency to emergency we barely had time to grab photos or “finished project” shots (this is only a couple out of ALL the jobs we’ve done)📸😂

All hands have been on deck — crews going nonstop, phones ringing off the hook, and somehow we all managed to not blow into the next province 💨🤣

Christina spent the day hauling the lift from job to job like a storm-chasing NASCAR pit crew while the rest of us held onto our hard hats for dear life 😅👏🏼

Safe to say… mother nature definitely kept us WORKING these last couple days 👊🏼🌲
