Just to show you what the difference in a quality stump grinding service. I was called to grind some roots out that were “exposed” and impacting homeowners ability to lay sod (grey patch of roots showing through the ground ahead of the hole). When I went to clean this up, noticed that there was actually two very large roots in this area…that were not removed when the stump was ground out. Also notice not only did the previous grinder leave them, notice how large and close to the surface these are! This is something that is NOT acceptable to me…everything should be ground down a min of 6-8” below grade and if possible, completely remove the stump and surface roots on pines and poplars…otherwise you will be in for surprises down the road (damaged mowers, trees sprouting, mushroom and fairy rings, etc.). And if you try to rototill the area for new sod, etc….then good luck! OR you can call a professional and get it done right the first time!
