“Bigger Garage, Bigger Wow”

Client calls us and says:
“Hey boys… got a bigger garage this time — honestly that’s basically why I sold the old house. So I need this one to look commercial, clean, shiny… you know, the stuff every guy secretly wants.”

We started by removing the old setup and upgraded everything with a Hörmann Thermatech 3400 — clean lines, modern look, R-9 insulation, and the kind of finish that makes people ask, “Why does your garage look nicer than my living room?”

Since he wanted that commercial wow-effect, and there’s a new hoist coming in, we added 2 feet of high lift to open up the ceiling and give the space that intentional, showroom vibe.

Then we dropped in a custom-built 30K high-cycle spring, made exactly to the new door’s weight so it behaves the way a proper garage door should — no shortcuts, no guessing. Upgraded it with 5/32" commercial cables so the whole thing runs smooth, quiet, and solid. Bottom line? The client isn’t touching springs for years, and they can park every shiny toy they own under that door without even thinking about it.

For the opener, we went with our favourite: LiftMaster 8900W jackshaft. Wall-mounted. Smart. Whisper-quiet. Leaves the ceiling wide open for lighting, hoists, and that “I totally know what I’m doing in here” look.
