This dead spruce tree blew over in a winter storm and was threatening our clients fence. For this reason, Fields and Forests offers 24/7 emergency response tree care.

This sugar maple tree was infected with brittle cinder fungus. It feeds on the cellulose of the trees cell walls. Cellulose is what gives trees their structural strength and rigidity. Therefore, this fungus causes trees to be extremely brittle. Trees infected with this fungus can appear to be healthy but have the potential to fail and snap off at the base.

We climbed to prune some over extended and storm damaged limbs that were over hanging the property on this large oak tree.

We are using the compression strength of the remaining cedar stem to stabilize this storm damage spruce tree while we work on dismantling it. 🌬️ 🌲 ⚡️

We are using a 5:1 mechanical advantage to pull this tree over. A 5:1 multiplies the pulling force of one person by five. With that being said, to pull this tree 20’ you would have to move 100’ of rope. This technique is used in various applications within our industry but this is an important one.
