As a tree service, our life’s work is caring for the canopy. Today, we are taking that commitment a massive step further.
We are officially investing in becoming a carbon-negative company by donating to the community forests international Protect & Restore fund. This investment directly funds the restoration and preservation of the endangered Wabanaki forests throughout the maritimes.
By protecting these forests, we are ensuring they continue to draw down carbon, safeguard biodiversity, and defend our local climate for generations to come.
We carefully track how much fuel is used by our equipment and machinery for every job we do. We set aside $50 for each tonne of carbon emissions our company produces, then we double our calculation and donate the total to Protect & Restore Fund at Community Forests International.
To date, Community Forests International has protected 84 different forests across New Brunswick and Nova Scotia totalling 15,355 acres through its Protect & Restore Fund. This includes a special 50-acre forest near our homebase where the Tantramar Outdoor Club maintains skiing and hiking trails for our community.
