Aluminum Wiring!

If your home was built in the 1960’s and 1970’s, & you’ve never have your connection points pigtailed with Copper- your home may be 55 times more likely to have a fire hazard!

It’s not the aluminum wiring in the walls that is the concern- aluminum can conduct electricity safely. It’s at each connection point where the aluminum expands and contracts more and over time the wire becomes loose causing overheating.

Most homeowners are now finding their insurance company will not provide coverage when they go to renew or when purchasing a home with aluminum wiring. Most insurance companies will request proof the aluminum has been properly pigtailed to the current electrical code.

Your home contains aluminum wiring… Now what?!
1st step is always contact a certified electrician; you’ll require a master electrician to obtain permits. At Proline Electric; we are your aluminum wiring experts and can assure all proper permits and the job is done right the first time.

Step 2; we will schedule a free on site estimate. Once approved we can schedule the work.

Step 3; we will apply for the electrical permit as the contractor prior to your service. Then complete the work to code; typically this is a full day service.

Step 4; once the work is complete, an electrical inspection is scheduled and once the city inspectors have passed. Proline will also issue a letter to submit to your insurance company.
