⚡ LIGHTNING SAFETY ON THE JOBSITE ⚡

Summer is almost here and that means summer storms. So when thunder rolls in, our safety risks go way up. Metal equipment, open areas, scaffolding, and power tools can all become serious hazards during a storm. 🌩️👷

Safety reminders for crews include the following:

1. Stop outdoor work when lightning is nearby
2. Stay away from ladders, scaffolding, and machinery
3. Avoid open fields and tall objects
4. Wait at least 30 minutes after the last thunder before resuming work
5. Keep an eye on weather alerts throughout the day 📱

A delayed project is frustrating. A preventable injury is worse. 🦺

🚧 CONSTRUCTION MYTH BUSTER 🚧

❌ MYTH: “Construction delays mean poor planning.”

✅ REALITY: Even well-planned projects can face delays due to factors outside anyone’s control. ⏳

Summer storms, inspection scheduling, material shortages, and supply chain issues can all impact timelines. 🌧️📦

Challenges are going to happen. The difference is how these challenges are handled by the crew. Good contractors and their crews communicate clearly, adapt safely, and focus on quality over rushing to finish the job. 👷🦺

Cutting corners to “save time” usually ends up costing more in the long run. 🔨

Did you know that weather plays a big role in how concrete behaves from start to finish?🧱🌦️

1. Cold temps: ❄️can slow down curing and weaken early strength if not protected.
2. Hot weather: ☀️ can speed up drying, which in tuern can cause cracking and poor finishing.
3. Rain: 🌧️ can damage the surface, wash out cement, and weaken the mix if it hits before it sets.
4. Wind:💨 can increases evaporation, leading to shrinkage cracks and uneven curing.

That’s why timing, protection, and proper curing methods matter on every pour 👷‍♂️🦺
