We at TerraEX are currently seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our growing team, located in Saint John, NB and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities:

● Backfilling; ditching; excavating; rough grading; grubbing; sub-grade excavating; trenching; material handling; slope grooming
● Operate heavy equipment in a safe manner;
● Secure special attachments to equipment;
● Perform minor repairs and preventative maintenance to equipment;
● Operate two-way radios and other communication equipment;
● Operate hydraulic pumping systems;
● Wear appropriate PPE at all times;
● Complete daily paperwork detailing job hours and job hazards;
● Comply with all company policies and procedures;
● Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment;
● Clean and lubricate equipment and refill equipment tanks;
● Maintain a clean site and organization of materials;
● Complete daily paperwork requirements;
● Operate with integrity and according to building practices.

Requirements:

● Class 5 with an acceptable driving record as well as having a means of transportation;
● 2 years of experience operating heavy equipment;
● Ability to use tools and equipment required to perform the work;
● Ability to follow safe working procedures;
● Excellent observation skills and a strong attention to detail;
● Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

▪️Coordinate and direct on site crews, including equipment and resources, to ensure timely and efficient completion of project’s.

▪️Lay out job plans and activities to meet production targets associated with the project’s.

▪️Ensure jobs are done in compliance with safety policies and procedures and monitor safety performance on site.

▪️Supervise and train crew members to ensure quality workmanship and adherence to projects specifications

▪️Communicate regularly with project managers , engineers , and other stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

▪️Manage project materials, inventory, and equipment to ensure they are available when needed.

▪️Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and production targets achieved.

Qualifications:

▪️Minimum of 5 years of experience in the heavy construction field as a Foreman or a related position.

▪️Knowledge of construction methods, practices, and equipment.

▪️Strong leadership and communication skills.

▪️Superior problem solving skills with high attention to detail and excellent organization skills.

▪️Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, and AutoCAD.

▪️Civil Engineering Technologist (C.E.T) would be considered an asset.

▪️Ability to read and interpret project plans and specifications.

▪️Knowledge of safety policies and procedures and the ability to enforce them.

▪️Experience in managing and coordinating crews, equipment and resources.

Job Responsibilities:
▪️Safety operate a dump truck to transport material such as dirt, gravel, sand etc.
▪️Perform daily pre-trip and post- trip inspections.
▪️Ensure loads are secured and transported safety.
▪️Maintain accurate logs and delivery tickets.
▪️Follow all DOT regulations and company safety policies.
▪️Communicate effectively with job site supervisor/ foreman’s.

Requirements:
▪️Clean driving record
▪️Class 3 or Class 1
▪️Previous dump truck experience
