Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Civil Construction Estimator/Project Manager to join our team. This dual-role position is ideal for a professional who excels at preparing accurate project estimates and managing the successful ex*****on of construction projects in the range of $100,000.00 to $4,000,000.00. The successful candidate will work in collaboration with others to provide a successful project outcome.
Key Responsibilities:
Estimator Duties:
• Analyze project specifications, drawings, and requirements to prepare accurate cost estimates.
• Collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to obtain competitive pricing and quotes.
• Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs, material, labor, and equipment cost calculations.
• Develop and present comprehensive bid proposals, ensuring alignment with company goals and client expectations.
• Submit accurate and complete bid packages to clients prior to closing time.
• Continuously update and maintain cost databases and industry pricing trends.
Project Manager Duties:
• Lead and oversee civil construction projects, ensuring timely and budget-conscious delivery.
• Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets while maintaining effective communication with all stakeholders.
• Disperse purchase orders to successful vendors.
• Organize and collect shop drawings and testing logs and submit for review.
• Coordinate resources, including labor, materials, and subcontractors, to meet project requirements.
• Monitor project progress, addressing any issues or changes in scope to minimize delays and cost overruns.
• Participate in pre-construction and weekly meetings with clients.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and client specifications.
• Prepare regular project status reports for clients and senior management.
• Prepare monthly progress billings and submit to client.
Qualifications:
• Canadian Citizenship
• Ideal candidate would have a CET, P.Tech, or P. Eng designation.
• 5 years of experience in civil construction estimating and/or project management.
• Proficiency in construction estimating software and project management tools.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Project.
