Cloney Construction was recently approached by a local program helping recent graduates explore the trades. The original idea was simple: talk about our business, our experience, and the work that happens in the field.
But with one quick call to Tressa, the opportunity became much bigger.
Because Cloney Construction is currently working on The Dock Apartments site, it became a chance to highlight not just excavation and site work, but the many local trades and contractors helping bring this development to life.
Thanks to Gerald and Tressa, who are always open to collaboration and community-minded ideas, that conversation became a full site tour at The Dock Apartments.
Gerald took the time to walk the students through the site, answer questions, and give them a firsthand look at the different trades working together on one local project. From excavation and construction to foundations, plumbing, electrical, mechanics, and more, the students were able to see real opportunities in action.
What made it even better was seeing how many local contractors are part of this project. People working, building, problem-solving, and creating opportunities right here at home.
A local program created the opportunity. Developers opened the doors. Students got to see the kind of work, careers, and community investment happening right here in their own hometown.
And in a region where skilled trades are needed more than ever, that kind of firsthand exposure matters.
We were grateful to help be part of the connection, and even more grateful to Gerald, Tressa, The Dock, and the program instructors for helping make it happen.
There is a lot of good being built here, and this was a pretty great reminder of that.
