Every Shaw Valley Town includes a legal 1-bedroom Additional Residential Unit (ARU) designed as part of the home from the start — with its own kitchen, bathroom and laundry, separate utility metering, and a separate entrance through the shared foyer.

So, what exactly is a walkout basement?

Instead of the basement being completely below grade, the slope of the lot allows the back of the lower level to open directly to the backyard — giving you the opportunity for a full exterior door, larger windows and plenty of natural light.

It can make a basement feel much more like another level of your home, whether you’re planning a family room, bedrooms, home office, entertaining space or even a future secondary suite.
