🍂 Your yearly reminder: DON'T cover your outdoor A/C unit for the winter!

Here’s why: 🐾 Covers attract small animals looking for shelter, which can cause chewed wires and other damage. 💧 Trapped moisture leads to rust and corrosion, reducing your unit's lifespan.

A/C units are built to handle harsh weather—extra protection isn’t necessary! But if you feel the need to prevent snow and ice buildup: Place a piece of plywood on top of the unit and weigh it down with a cinderblock. Nothing more is needed!

Let your unit breathe, and it’ll be ready to keep you cool next summer! 🌞

When your furnace runs for the first time after months of inactivity, a brief dusty smell can be normal. Dust that settled inside the system over the summer is warming up and the odour should fade fairly quickly.

What shouldn’t be ignored:

⚠️ A burning smell that persists
⚠️ An electrical or melting-plastic odour
⚠️ Smoke or unusual noises
⚠️ A gas-like or rotten-egg smell

If you smell gas, leave the home immediately and contact your gas utility’s emergency line or 911 from a safe location. Don’t try to locate the source yourself.
