Oh hey there 👋 it’s been a minute. We’re still out here doing our thing.

On this house you can see in the first pic the inside vaulted line came down and made the door to the loft not work. So we had to come back into this house and stick frame this area after being told by the truss designer it couldn’t be done 🙄

This was actually a fun change to make. I always like doing stuff other people say can’t be done 🤷‍♂️

Jokes aside I forgot to pass information along to as to what was chosen for lighting. Now to make it right!

On long decks I like to add a spine to break up the deck boards for 2 reasons. It helps keep the boards straighter (as well as anything not perfectly straight is harder to notice 😉) and it gives the deck a little something.

Oh and don’t be afraid to not mitre the corners. No matter what they open up anyway at least when they are square the gap remains the same.

Who did your concrete? And why ICF? Seems to be the most common questions lately lol

We did the concrete! Before I went out on my own framing houses I spent almost 6 years working commercial for Graham construction where we did all kinds of concrete work. So I felt confident in taking this on!

And we went with ICF for a couple reasons, the added insulation, didn’t have to rent forms (since we don’t do concrete all the time), ease of installation and the add r value to the home.

For the extra cost of about 10% more than a standard foundation it was an easy choice. With homes becoming more energy efficient I think we will see this more.

All set and ready to pour!

Went with .icfs for this foundation with 2 1/2” of insulation on each side of the foundation it will make for a warm basment and with how the block stacks together made putting this up a piece of 🍰!
