Journeyperson Carpenter

Duties include but are not limited to:

Proficient in many aspects of construction including demolition, flooring installation, drywalling, taping and mudding, painting, cladding or siding installation, metal roof installation, cabinet installation, finishing carpentry, concrete formwork, concrete placements, and concrete repairs.

Strong supervision skills and ability to safely lead small crews

Ability to read drawings, guides and specifications

Build and repair houses and buildings, using a variety of construction materials such as wood, metal, or concrete

Ability to do material take-offs

Ability to learn software

Have valid drivers license

The successful candidate must have a Journeyperson Carpenter certificate. Fall Protection, WHMIS/SCOT, Fire Extinguisher, Confined Space and Aerial Work Platform (AWP) certificates are assets.

FIFO This position is located at a remote mine site in Northern Saskatchewan. The shift is a 2-weeks on, 2-weeks off rotation, 11-hour workdays with overtime after 8 hours and on weekends.

The successful candidate must successfully pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test and complete the required training prior to going to site. It is the responsibility of the candidate to get themselves to one of our fly-out points.

The Journeyperson Scaffolder will be responsible for loading and unloading construction materials and moving materials to work areas, erecting scaffolding using hand and power tools, such as hammers, wrenches, and drill guns, ensuring that scaffolding is set up according to safety standards and regulations and monitoring the work area for hazards and taking appropriate precautions.

The successful candidate must have a Journeyperson Scaffolder certificate.

Labour Coordinator

The Labour Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating and managing the allocation of field personnel across active and upcoming projects to ensure workforce requirements are met safely, efficiently and in alignment with project schedules. This role reports directly to the Project Services Manager and acts as the central point of coordination between Project Managers, site supervision and Human Resources to support timely mobilization, productivity, compliance and cost control. The position plays a key role in maintaining workforce continuity, reducing downtime and supporting successful project ex*****on across all construction operations.

This mid-level position is based out of our Head Office in Saskatoon. Applicants must bring at least 2 years of experience working in an industrial construction setting, have proficient computer skills and excellent interpersonal skills.

Points Athabasca Contracting LP is accepting resumes for a Quality Control Inspector.

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Control Inspector will be responsible for ensuring that completed work and/or work in progress meets the requirements of the plans and specifications. The QC Inspector establishes the standards of operation, ensures that procedures are set to achieve quality standards, and work with managers to enact and maintain new standards. The incumbent will provide technical support to project staff and conduct required Quality inspections in accordance with the required codes of construction.

Education, experience and knowledge required:

CWB level 1 weld inspector certificate;

Site quality control experience;

Experience in reviewing and understanding plans and specifications and comparing; completed work to the plans and specification requirements;

Well organized with a solid understanding of the construction industry;
Strong writing skills;
Proficient in computer word processing and Microsoft Office applications;
Strong regard for quality assurance according to company standards.

The Project Coordinator supports the Superintendent through undertaking material procurement and expediting, liaison with owner, client, consultant and the public, assisting with the preparation and maintenance of project schedule, assisting with the preparation and tracking of payment request, invoices and estimates, assisting with the setup, issuance of documentation, pricing and change administration, defining the subcontract scope of work, answers inquiries (RFI's) and monitoring progress, monitors and assists with the implementation of quality control program, monitor and track equipment and resources inventory and is involved in the project closeout activities by coordinating documentation including deficiencies, warranties, maintenance and final payments.

Qualifications:

Mechanical, Civil or Structural Engineering degree or graduate of a related technical diploma program, or;

3-5 years of training in various phases of project administration and field administration
