Stabilizing a Settling Addition

For this project, our customer’s addition had begun to show signs of settling. To correct the problem, our team opened up the floor system to spray foam the perimeter to improve insulation. We then added new screw piles beside the existing concrete piles, then had custom brackets fabricated to connect the new piles to the old, preventing further movement.

Once secured, we lifted the addition as much as possible and installed steel shims on top of the existing concrete piles for added stability. Finally, we backfilled the area, installed Roxul insulation, and added metal lath to help keep rodents out of the crawlspace.

Every project is unique, and this one required a combination of precision, engineering, and craftsmanship to ensure long-term stability and comfort for the homeowner.

Sometimes the first repair isn’t the final one.

This foundation crack was previously repaired by another company but started leaking again. Our team opened it up, cleaned it thoroughly, and applied a suitable primer, waterproof caulking and hydraulic cement. This is a temporary repair and the goal is to prevent additional water from seeping i nto the basement until a full repair can be completed from the outside when the weather allows.

Water Intrusion? Problem Solved.

This entrance was allowing water to flow back toward the building and leak into the basement parking below — all due to incorrect concrete sloping.

Our team removed the existing top layer of concrete, corrected the slope to direct water away from the structure, and sealed the entire surface with an epoxy-style product for long-term protection.

In this project, we tackled an old coal chute that had a significant vertical crack running above and below it.
We opened up the area and rebuilt it using PWF lumber, adding insulation and poly for a clean, sealed interior finish.

On the exterior, we closed it in with treated lumber, applied a waterproof membrane, sealed all joints with caulking, and finished it off with a layer of concrete parging.

The result — a solid, watertight repair that restores both strength and appearance to the foundation.

This foundation was breaking down from the inside.

Instead of costly replacement, we stabilized it — preventing further deterioration.

We applied a rubberized, flexible membrane to the interior of the wall to help reinforce the surface and extend the life of the foundation.
