Digital metrics have long shaped how tourism organizations measure success. But as AI-driven search, generative discovery and digital assistants continue to evolve, the way travellers discover destinations is changing faster than many analytics platforms can track.

This latest AI Snapshot with Peter Pilarski explores why traditional metrics like impressions, reach and website traffic are becoming less reliable indicators on their own and why digital authority, visibility and qualified visitor intent are becoming increasingly important for tourism organizations.

As traveller behaviour shifts toward AI-generated search, voice search and conversational discovery tools, organizations may need to rethink how they measure digital performance and long-term brand visibility.

Saskatchewan businesses are known for being welcoming. For international visitors, those small, thoughtful touches can make a lasting impact.

American travellers continue to be a key driver of our tourism economy. In 2025, Saskatchewan saw steady U.S. visitation, including a two per cent increase in cross-border vehicle traffic and a 21 per cent rise in air arrivals. For the outfitting sector, U.S. visitors represent more than 90 per cent of clients and support an industry generating approximately $150 million annually.

At the same time, overseas visitors, while making up just two per cent of overnight trips, account for four per cent of total overnight spending. This highlights the growing importance of high-value, export-ready experiences across the province.

Whether you are welcoming American road trippers or international guests, here are five practical tips to help visitors feel comfortable, confident and supported during their stay.
