Hi guys, I felt like it was time to reintroduce myself! 🤍

For those of you who are new here, I’m Jules! I’m 25, born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, and I’m the person behind Stories & Spaces, Designed by Jules. I have both my Bachelor and Master degrees in Architecture, and I currently work full-time at David Ellis Architect while gaining experience towards becoming a licensed architect.

Outside of work, I do this! What I love most about design is that it’s about so much more than making a space beautiful. It’s about taking the ideas in your head and turning them into something you can actually see, feel, achieve and imagine yourself in.

Whether it’s a renovation, new build, addition, backyard, or business, I love helping people bring their vision to life and creating spaces that feel like them.

When I first started Stories & Spaces, I was so nervous. I wondered if anyone would actually be interested in what I had to offer, when I’d get my first client, and whether I was really ready to put myself and my work out there.

Just over a year later, I look back feeling so proud of how much it has grown and how much I’ve grown as a designer!

I’m so incredibly grateful to everyone who has followed along, supported me, trusted me with their homes and ideas, or simply shared one of my posts. Every project and person I’ve worked with has taught me something new, and I’m so thankful for each and every one of you.

Thank you for being here and being part of this journey.

Let’s create something beautiful together!! 👩🏼‍💻

ONE YEAR of Stories & Spaces 🤍

I launched Stories & Spaces, Designed by Jules one year ago today, and I truly couldn’t be more grateful.

I’ve always loved designing the in-between and often overlooked spaces, helping clients see the potential in their homes and create something beautiful and functional, whatever the size or budget.

From my very first client to today, I’ve grown, learned, and experienced so much. Balancing this alongside my full-time job hasn’t always been easy, but every project has brought me so much joy and allowed me to keep growing creatively.

From 3D renderings and drafting to material selections and furniture layouts, I love bringing the details together and helping turn ideas into spaces that feel like home.

Thank you to every client who has trusted me, supported Stories & Spaces, and followed along this past year. I’m so grateful for every project, experience, and opportunity. Here’s to another year of beautiful spaces, new ideas, and bringing visions to life! ✨

What I’ve been up to! 🤍

I had such a beautiful summer filled with new experiences, old memories, and so much to be grateful for.

I had the chance to travel back to Europe with my older brother, Zack, and explore new places together. I spent weekends at my family camp, making new memories while reminiscing on so many of the ones that came before. I met new clients, took on some exciting projects of my own, and continued working full-time alongside the best team; taking on new responsibilities, growing more independently, and learning lots along the way.

Most importantly, I got to spend lots of time with the people I love while finding such a great balance between work and life.

Feeling extra grateful for where I am right now; for the opportunities, the work I get to do, my amazing friends and family, and all the little moments in between. 🥹🤍

PART 2 | Wellness Space 🧖‍♀️

I also had the opportunity to design the original concept of the back portion of the medical spa; the wellness space. What started as an empty warehouse used for storage was transformed into a dedicated space for relaxation, recovery, and connection.

I utilized an existing room for the sauna and designed the rest of the space around it, incorporating a red light therapy room, cold plunges, change rooms, and a hangout + refreshment area where people can relax and connect.

I wanted to maintain the industrial character of the existing space, keeping the original ceiling and embracing the raw elements while layering in warmer, more intentional finishes. The result is a space designed to feel both functional and inviting. ✨🧖🏼‍♀️

PART 1 | Medical Spa 🩺✨

I had the opportunity to design the original concept for this medical spa, working with the existing space wherever possible while introducing new rooms to meet the needs of the client and future users. A big part of the process was finding the balance between thoughtful spatial planning, functionality, budget, and code requirements.

I absolutely love how these renders came together! This project taught me so much about maximizing an existing space while creating something that feels bright, welcoming, and open. 💅💉

This little basement renovation was all about maximizing the space with the new programming! Incorporating a new bathroom, two bedrooms, a laundry room, cozy living area, and a small bar space, all while maintaining the existing structure and window openings. A beautifully updated design tailored for a growing family ✨🏠
