Innovation takes shape when we work together. Yesterday at MMH in Sevilla, Marco Garrido, our VP of Business Development, shared how Hy-Tech’s innovation ecosystem connects our crews, clients and equipment partners to solve challenges in the field.

From rod handling to drill connectivity, progress comes from listening to the people doing the work, testing ideas in real conditions and refining them together. The goal: reduce physical exposure, support our crews and make drilling more dependable.

Our Foremen and Supervisors in Portugal recently took part in drilling fluid (mud) training with Juan-Luis Valenzuela from Can Mud, arranged with the support of Victor Gandara from VG Drill.

The focus: using specialized drilling fluids and lubricants effectively in the field. From preparing and monitoring fluids to supporting borehole stability and core recovery, these skills help our teams tackle challenging conditions and deliver consistent results.

Can you believe our colleague Dean Taylor has drilled an astonishing 100,000 metres? Behind this milestone are countless shifts, hard work and experience built one metre at a time.

An achievement like this deserved a personal visit. In late September, Clark Gamelin, Jason Comeau, and Dwayne Ross showed up unannounced at Dean’s drill site to surprise him with a Remarkable Achievement plaque recognizing his accomplishment.

For 25 years, PAIR has helped organizations turn commitment into action and build stronger relationships with Indigenous communities. As we prepare to join the celebrations, we’re proud to reflect on what our own PAIR journey has taught us.

One of our most meaningful lessons has been that reconciliation is built through authentic relationships. It means showing up consistently, listening, learning and challenging ourselves to continually improve how we work together.

Way to go Wesley Keating! Our Training Manager recently represented Hy-Tech at the Society of Economic Geologists’ Drilling 101 training.

The session was a true cross-industry effort, initiated by Jennifer La Sure of Freeport and supported by Hy-Tech, Boart Longyear, Layne Drilling, and Major Drilling. Together, the group helped give geologists a practical look at drilling from the contractor’s perspective.

Wes covered the fundamentals of specialty drilling, including fly drilling and ice drilling, sharing practical knowledge that can help geologists and drill crews work more effectively together when planning and executing these specialized programs.

If you know Wes, you know he’s in his element in front of a room. He has a knack for taking complex topics and making them practical, clear and easy to understand.

Thanks, Jennifer, for bringing the industry together for such a great example of knowledge sharing and collaboration!
