🍂🔥 ANOTHER ACTION LANDSCAPING TRANSFORMATION COMPLETE! 🔥🍂
BEFORE ➡️ DEMOLITION ➡️ REBUILD ➡️ FINISHED.

This one was a PROJECT!!! and we couldn't be happier with how Kathy & Bob's new front entrance turned out! 👌🏾🧱

First and foremost, a HUGE THANK YOU to Kathy & Bob for trusting Action Landscaping with their home, for their patience throughout the project, and for being absolutely fantastic customers.
We say it all the time, but we mean it:
WE HAVE SOME OF THE BEST CUSTOMERS IN THE WORLD. 🙏🏾❤️

Take a look through these pictures because this transformation shows exactly what goes into doing this properly.
The old wooden steps and landing are GONE.
The deteriorating concrete underneath is GONE.
The old walkway is GONE.
The old garden edging is GONE.
We stripped this entrance back and rebuilt it from the ground up.
And look at those colours! 😍🔥
The warm, natural tones through the stone give this entrance character without overpowering the house, while that dark contrasting border and cap frames everything beautifully. The new walls, steps, landing and walkway now read as one complete design instead of a collection of separate pieces added over the years.

🇨🇦 BUT PRETTY ISN'T GOOD ENOUGH.
This is Eastern Ontario.
Our hardscapes have to deal with Canadian winters, freeze/thaw cycles, frost movement, heavy rain, drainage and everything Mother Nature decides to throw at us.
That's why what you DON'T see in the finished pictures matters just as much as what you do see.
Excavation.
Proper base preparation.
Drainage.
Compaction.
Grading.
Geotextile where required.
Correct elevations.
Proper construction behind the walls and steps.
The foundation underneath your hardscape is what determines whether it still looks great years from now.
That's also why sometimes we take a little longer.
We're not interested in racing through someone's property just so we can say we finished another job.

DETAILS MATTER.
If something isn't right, we fix it. If something needs another hour, it gets another hour. If weather tells us that adhesive or another part of the installation needs to wait we wait.

This project threw a few curveballs at us. We've had an absolutely wild season of rain, and we've had some changes with employees choosing different directions in life.
But you adapt. You persevere. And you finish the job properly. 💪🏾
That's what matters.

We don't offer that because it sounds good in an advertisement.

We're heading into an EXTREMELY busy fall, and Action Landscaping is looking to add some RELIABLE, HARD-WORKING people to our team.

Maybe you've spent the season working for another landscaping or construction company and you're ready for a change of scenery, a new opportunity, more responsibility or somewhere you can grow.

WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

🔹 Hardscape Construction Foreman
🔹 Experienced Hardscaper / Landscape Construction Lead Hand
🔹 Experienced Landscape Construction Labourers
🔹 General Labourers — EXPERIENCE NOT NECESSARILY REQUIRED!

For our experienced positions, knowledge of interlocking stone, retaining walls, steps, excavation, grading, drainage, base preparation and landscape construction is a major asset.

But I ALSO want to hear from people who may not have years of landscaping experience yet.

Maybe you're handy, mechanically inclined, like working with your hands, enjoy being outdoors and want to learn an actual trade and build a career.

We can teach skills.

What I need from you is a willingness to SHOW UP, WORK and LEARN. 💪🏾

I'm looking for people who:

✅ Are reliable and actually show up
✅ Aren't afraid of physical work
✅ Take pride in what they accomplish
✅ Can listen and follow direction
✅ Want to learn new skills
✅ Respect our customers and their properties
✅ Work well as part of a team
✅ Want an opportunity to become MORE valuable as they gain experience

If you've never installed an interlocking patio before but you're dependable, handy and hungry to learn, DON'T automatically count yourself out.

I'd rather train someone with a great attitude and work ethic than deal with someone experienced who can't be relied on. 💯

🚗 Valid G or D licence and reliable transportation are strongly preferred.

📍 Based in Smiths Falls, Ontario
🏗️ Work throughout Smiths Falls, Ottawa and surrounding communities
💰 Pay based on experience, ability and qualifications

We've got a LOT of work ahead of us, and I'm looking for people who want to help us finish 2026 strong and potentially build something long-term with Action Landscaping.

🌧️⛈️ WHAT A WILD YEAR TO BE WORKING OUTSIDE!! 😂🧱

I swear the weather forecast doesn't mean anything anymore.

30% chance of rain = 100% chance we're getting soaked.
100% chance of rain = somehow we get a beautiful afternoon. 😂🤦🏾‍♂️

Between the ridiculous amounts of rain, severe storms, flooding and tornado warnings we've seen around Eastern Ontario this season… Mother Nature has definitely been keeping everyone on their toes.

And here we are already nearing the END OF AUGUST!! 😳

Meanwhile, Action Landscaping still has a LOT of beautiful projects sitting on the schedule waiting for us.

So apparently September and October are going to consist of:

🌅 Earlier mornings
🌙 Later evenings
🧱 A whole lot of stone
💪🏾 A whole lot of hard work
☕ Probably way too much coffee
😂 And apparently keeping a raincoat AND a snow suit in the truck at the same time!

But that's landscaping in Ontario.

We can't control the weather. We CAN control how we respond to it.

We're going to keep pushing, keep building, keep looking after our customers and keep producing work we're proud to put the ACTION name on.

🌧️ SOAKED BUT WE’RE MAKING PROGRESS!! 🧱💪🏾

Mother Nature isn't exactly cooperating with us today 😂🌧️ but we're getting VERY close to the finish line on Kathy & Bob's front entrance transformation!

The top wall caps are glued and locked in, but with everything getting soaked, we're not going to rush the remaining step caps. Some things are worth waiting for the right conditions to do properly. 👌🏾

And LOOK at these colours!! 😍🔥

The combination of the beautiful blended wall stone with those dark contrasting caps is really starting to show the vision we had for this entrance. The steps, walls and landing are all beginning to come together as one complete design.

There's still finishing work ahead of us but compared to where we started, this front entrance has undergone one hell of a transformation.
