🇨🇦 PLEASE KEEP OUR TROOPS, THEIR FAMILIES & WAINWRIGHT IN YOUR PRAYERS. 🇨🇦

I heard about what happened at CFB Wainwright in Alberta last night and again this morning, but I honestly didn't realize just how serious this tragedy was.

My heart goes out to the members of our Canadian Armed Forces, the families who have lost loved ones, those who have been injured, and everyone waiting for news. ❤️

And please don't forget the surrounding community of Wainwright. In a smaller community, something like this touches everybody, families, friends, neighbours, first responders and businesses.
To the military and civilian first responders who ran toward this emergency to help others, thank you!!

Today, please take a moment and keep our troops, their families and the entire Wainwright community in your thoughts and prayers. 🙏🏾

We stand with our Canadian Armed Forces. 🇨🇦

🦌⚠️ PLEASE WATCH FOR WILDLIFE ⚠️🦌
Heading toward Ottawa this morning, only about 10 minutes outside Smiths Falls, I saw several deer in the fields — and unfortunately two deer already dead along the roadside. 😔

Just a reminder to everyone: please slow down and stay alert. Deer and other wildlife are on the move right now, especially along our rural roads.

Watch the shoulders and ditches, put the phone away, and remember — if you see one deer, there may be another right behind it. 🦌🦌

At Action Landscaping, community means more than the work we do. These are our roads too. Our families, customers, friends and neighbours travel them every day.
Look out for each other. ❤️

Drive safe. Stay alert. Get home safely.
Have a beautiful and blessed Sunday! 🙏🏾🇨🇦

❤️🎙️ WHEN I SAY I’M GOING TO DO SOMETHING, I DO MY BEST TO FOLLOW THROUGH.

Last week I shared that Action Landscaping would be stepping up as a proud sponsor of the 88.1 myFM & 92.3 WOW FM Radiothon for local healthcare.

Well… our commercial is officially produced, and we’re hitting the radio! 📻💪🏿
I have to admit, hearing it for the first time was pretty special.

I’ve had people doubt me throughout my life. I’ve struggled. I’ve made mistakes. I’ve had to change things about myself, work on my health, change how I live, and learn some difficult lessons along the way.

But for the last 12–13 years, I’ve kept putting one foot in front of the other and building Action Landscaping.

Job by job. Customer by customer. Year after year.
And one thing I’ve learned is that words don't mean very much without actions behind them.

I talk a lot about family first and community always. Those aren't supposed to be slogans. They're values I want to live by.

Our community supported my little business when it was just getting started. People took chances on me. They hired us, referred us, recommended us, shared our work and helped Action Landscaping grow.

Now that I'm fortunate enough to be in a position to give something back, that's exactly what we're going to do. ❤️

We certainly haven't “made it.” I'm still working, learning, growing and trying to become a better businessman, father,
partner and person every day.

But I'm incredibly proud of how far we've come and even more grateful for the people who helped us get here!!! 🙏🏾🙏🏾

So turn the volume up and have a listen to our brand-new radio commercial! 🎙️🔥

And to everyone who has supported me and Action Landscaping over the years:
THANK YOU. This is your community too, and this is what supporting one another looks like. ❤️🙏🏾
Family First. Community Always.

🍁🇨🇦❤️ HAPPY & BLESSED THANKSGIVING SUNDAY, EVERYONE! ❤️🇨🇦🍁

From our little family to yours, we want to wish all of our wonderful customers, friends, family, neighbours, and our entire community a very HAPPY THANKSGIVING! 🙏🏾❤️

What a beautiful time of year to slow things down, spend some quality time with the people we love, and reflect on just how much we truly have to be thankful for.

And let me tell you something...

I HAVE A LOT TO BE THANKFUL FOR! ❤️

My beautiful little girl, my family, our health, the roof over our heads, the opportunities we've been given, and the incredible people who continue to support us along the way.

Life certainly isn't always easy. We all have our struggles, our challenges, and those days when it feels like everything is working against us.

But sometimes it's important to stop, look around, and appreciate just how blessed we really are.

Because the little things in life are often the BIGGEST blessings. 🙏🏾

As many of you know, Action Landscaping is much more than just a business to me.

It's something I've poured my heart, soul, blood, sweat, and probably a few choice words into over the years! 😂💪🏿

And none of it would be possible without the amazing people who continue to believe in us.

Every customer who has trusted us with their home, every referral, every recommendation, every review, and every person who has supported our little family-run business...

THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART! ❤️🙏🏾

You have all played a part in helping us build something I'm incredibly proud of.

And that's something I'll never take for granted.

This Thanksgiving, I also want to encourage everyone to remember the people around us.

🍁 Spend time with your family.

🍁 Give your kids an extra hug.

🍁 Call your parents or grandparents.

🍁 Check in on someone who might be spending the holiday alone.

🍁 Support a local business.

🍁 And if you're fortunate enough to have a little extra, consider helping someone who might be struggling.

A LITTLE KINDNESS CAN GO A LONG WAY. ❤️

You never know what someone else is going through, and sometimes the smallest gesture can make the biggest difference.

Whether you're gathering around a big Thanksgiving dinner, enjoying a quiet afternoon at home, heading out to see family, or simply relaxing and watching some football... 🏈😂

I hope your day is filled with love, laughter, good food, wonderful memories, and plenty of reasons to smile.

And to everyone working this holiday weekend, especially our healthcare workers, first responders, and those keeping our communities running — THANK YOU! ❤️

From our little princess Gabi, and myself...

HAPPY THANKSGIVING, EVERYONE! 🍁🇨🇦❤️

May God bless you, your families, and our wonderful communities today and always. 🙏🏾

FAMILY FIRST. COMMUNITY ALWAYS. GRATITUDE EVERY DAY.

🇨🇦🍁 HAPPY THANKSGIVING LONG WEEKEND FROM ACTION LANDSCAPING! 🍁🇨🇦

Well, it's Friday, and we're still at it!! 😂💪🏾

I've been fighting this nasty cold all week, but we're pushing through, getting things ready, and making sure everything is done properly before taking a much-needed Thanksgiving long weekend!

Today, I wanted to show everyone something extremely important that most homeowners never get to see.

🔥 GEOGRID REINFORCEMENT! 🔥

And believe me, there's a reason we're talking about this!

Over the years, Action Landscaping has been called in to repair, lift, relay, and completely rebuild projects originally installed by other landscaping contractors.

Retaining walls that have moved. Steps that have shifted. Walkways that have settled. Interlocking projects that simply haven't stood the test of time.

And let me tell you something...

WE WOULD MUCH RATHER BUILD YOUR PROJECT PROPERLY THE FIRST TIME THAN HAVE YOU PAY SOMEONE ELSE TO BUILD IT TWICE! 💯

Unfortunately, we've seen firsthand what can happen when important details are overlooked during construction.

Improper excavation. Inadequate base preparation. Poor drainage. Insufficient compaction. And reinforcement that wasn't installed where the design required it.

These are all things that can contribute to premature failures.

🇨🇦 AND LET'S NOT FORGET — WE LIVE IN CANADA! 🇨🇦

Our projects have to withstand freezing temperatures, thawing, heavy rainfall, saturated soils, and the challenges of our Canadian climate.

That's why proper installation methods matter!

GEOGRID IS ONE OF THOSE IMPORTANT TOOLS.

It's an engineered reinforcement material used in certain retaining walls and hardscape applications to improve structural stability.

Now, does every patio, walkway, step, or retaining wall require geogrid?

NO!

But when the project specifications, soil conditions, engineering, or manufacturer's installation requirements call for it, it absolutely needs to be part of the installation.

And that brings me to something I want every homeowner to understand...

🚨 BEFORE YOU HIRE A LANDSCAPER, ASK QUESTIONS! 🚨

✅ How deep are you excavating?

✅ What materials are you using for the base?

✅ How are you handling drainage and water management?

✅ Will geogrid reinforcement be required for my project?

✅ How are you preparing and compacting the foundation?

✅ Are you following the manufacturer's installation specifications?

And most importantly, can your contractor explain WHY they're doing things a certain way?

Because the cheapest quote isn't always the cheapest project in the long run.

Especially when you're paying another contractor years later to tear everything apart and start over.

WE KNOW — BECAUSE WE'VE BEEN THE CONTRACTOR CALLED IN TO FIX IT!!! 💪🏿 💪🏾

And I say that not to criticize every other landscaping company out there. There are excellent contractors doing excellent work.

But homeowners deserve to understand what they're paying for.

At Action Landscaping, we take tremendous pride in our workmanship, our preparation, our materials, and the details that most people will never see once the project is finished.

WE DON'T JUST WANT YOUR PROJECT TO LOOK AMAZING WHEN WE LEAVE.

WE WANT IT TO KEEP LOOKING AMAZING FOR YEARS TO COME! 🔥

Whether you're considering a new retaining wall, interlocking walkway, front entrance, steps, patio, driveway extension, or you're dealing with an existing project that's failing...

KEEP ACTION LANDSCAPING IN MIND!

We specialize in new installations, repairs, and complete hardscape transformations throughout Smiths Falls, Lanark County, Ottawa, and surrounding communities.

And we're proud to stand behind our new hardscape installations with our 5plus YEAR WORKMANSHIP WARRANTY, subject to our warranty terms.

We believe in doing things properly, taking pride in the details, and building relationships with our customers that last long after the project is completed.

BECAUSE QUALITY ISN'T JUST WHAT YOU SEE ON THE SURFACE. IT STARTS UNDERNEATH! 💪🏾🔥

And with that, we're getting ready to enjoy the Thanksgiving long weekend!

We'll be back at work Tuesday, October 13th, ready to keep pushing through the remainder of our landscaping season.

From our family to yours, we wish everyone a very HAPPY, HEALTHY, AND BLESSED THANKSGIVING! 🍁❤️🙏🏾

Spend time with your loved ones, appreciate the little things, support your local businesses, and enjoy this beautiful time of year.

We're incredibly thankful for our customers, friends, family, and everyone who continues to support Action Landscaping.

QUALITY WITHOUT COMPROMISE.

🇨🇦 BUILT RIGHT. BUILT TO LAST.

❤️🎙️ PROUD TO GIVE BACK TO THE COMMUNITY THAT HAS GIVEN US SO MUCH! 🎙️❤️

Well, this is pretty darn exciting!! 😁💪🏿

We're incredibly proud to announce that Action Landscaping is officially joining 88.1 myFM and 92.3 WOW FM as a Lead Hourly Sponsor for the 2026 Radiothon for Local Healthcare! ❤️🏥

📅 Thursday, October 15, 2026
⏰ 8 AM – 6 PM

This event brings our communities together to raise much-needed funds for our local hospitals, helping support medical equipment, patient care, and the healthcare services that our families, friends, and neighbours depend on.

And for us, this one means something special. ❤️

I've spent years building Action Landscaping from the ground up, one project, one customer, and one relationship at a time.

And one thing I've learned along the way is that you don't build a successful local business without the support of an incredible community.

Every customer who's trusted us with their home, every referral, every recommendation, every kind word, and every person who's supported Action Landscaping along the way has helped us get to where we are today.

And I haven't and will never be forgotten. 🙏🏾❤️

That's why we're especially proud to be supporting the Perth & Smiths Falls District Hospital Foundation through this year's Radiothon.

Because when someone we love needs medical care, having quality healthcare close to home means EVERYTHING.

Whether you're a small business owner, a family, or someone who simply wants to make a difference, we encourage you to tune in, spread the word, and support this wonderful cause however you can.

A donation, a share, or simply helping raise awareness can all make a difference.

A huge thank-you to 88.1 myFM, 92.3 WOW FM, and everyone involved for bringing our communities together for something that truly matters.

And to our customers, friends, family, and supporters...

THANK YOU for giving Action Landscaping the opportunity to give back. ❤️🙏🏾
