Apparently it’s driveway week? This was another interesting one, over the last 30 years nature has been slowly taking over this driveway. After a bit of digging we found a lot of driveway under all that grass. Like all the driveways we do we remove the organics from the surface before re-grading the existing materials to minimize weeds contaminating the gravel.

If there was an award for largest pothole this driveway would win hands down. Some serious drainage issues needed to be addressed while fixing this driveway. After cutting out the pothole we ended up building up the driveway about 12” at the pothole to get water flowing on both sides. As always cleaned up the lines and ‘reclaimed’ some extra space that was overgrown. Finished up a septic tank replacement today. The old tank was at its end of life and someone had built an addition over top of it. Clients now have a brand new Boyd Bros Concrete 4800L tank. Yard is all cleaned up and we are off to the next one. Have a great weekend everyone.

Removed a crumbling asphalt driveway and replaced it with a gravel driveway, finished with stone dust. Techo-Bloc for driveway edging and garage skirt. With 18” of base aggregate this driveway will not rut like the old one. This design also allows for the possibility of paving as a future upgrade.

Have I mentioned before how much I love repairing and cleaning up gravel driveways? This one turned out real nice, removed a few potholes and cleaned up the edges, finished with 2” of Granular M.

Some photos from a grading job I did a few weeks ago. Final grading around a new pool which was causing drainage issues in their yard. By shaping some gentle swales around the pool water now moves to the ditch along the side of the property.
