Here is a great story:
hi Kathy - I'm the person who purchased the 5 "Dockside Shenanigans" magnets, and I have a story for you about wonderful lifelong friendships.
Today, we are a group of 5 women, and we are all turning 70 within the next year or so. At one time, there were 6 of us, all living in Northern Ontario. Three of us had met in kindergarten, and we met the other 3 when all 6 of us attended the same high school. As it happens, after high school and college, we lost touch as a group of 6. One friend moved to Southern Ontario to start her family, and it was so hard as a group of 6 to connect very often back then. 20 years later, we lost 1 of our friends to cancer, and we were devastated. Luckily, we were all able to gather together for the funeral. She had a young family and a wonderful husband.
Once our children were grown,,,we began meeting more frequently. We continued to work and began sharing so many stories. There were stories of our families, new grandchildren, wonderful travel, unfortunate divorces, some unemployment, illnesses and cancer, new business ventures, and unfortunately the death of a loving spouse, but our lives were full, and our friendship remained. Getting together was always a time to share our lives' experiences, the ups and downs, and of course many giggles about old times.
Personally, I moved to Southern Ontario after retirement, and reconnected with the one friend who'd moved away almost 40 years ago. We began to reunite the 'group of 5', both here in Southern Ontario, and at times back 'home' in Northern Ontario. One evening, we decided to contact the children of our dear friend who'd died. I found her on facebook, sent her a message, and 6 months later, she replied that she'd read our note and was so glad to hear from us.
This past summer, one friend remarried, she had been widowed 6 years ago and married a widower as well. We all attended the wedding, and had an amazing time together - I've attached a picture for you. At one point, it had looked like only 1 of us was attending, but that all changed and the bride was so glad we all made it.
We are bonded at the hip and we are all forever connected. Your comment in the card you sent me with the magnets explains us perfectly - "the most beautiful discovery true friends make is that they grow separately without growing apart". I thank you for this quote, and I will include it with the magnets when I give them to my friends, telling them where it came from.
Your website encourages your clients to send in their stories of friends, with a chance to win one of your prints. I'd be honoured if you accepted my story for this wonderful gift. Thank you for helping me choose a lovely friendship momento for my group of 5!
Warmly,,,,
