⚠️ SIGNAL FOR POTENT WINTER STORM EARLY NEXT WEEK INCREASING
This afternoon, I’m continuing to track a system expected to move across Newfoundland from Monday afternoon through late Tuesday, possibly into early Wednesday.
At this point, my confidence is increasing that this storm will bring a mix of heavy snow, rain, and strong winds to much of the Island.
The big question now: who gets what—and where?
Right now, it looks like eastern and southeastern Newfoundland (Burin, Bonavista, and Avalon Peninsulas) will start as snow Monday afternoon and night, before transitioning to ice pellets, freezing rain, and eventually rain. There is potential for significant snow and ice accumulation before that changeover.
Further west, conditions look to stay mostly snow, with the potential for considerable totals depending on the exact track and timing of the system.
This forecast will become clearer over the next 24 hours, and I’ll keep you updated every step of the way.
Make sure you’re following along so you don’t miss the latest updates.
