❄️ Well, winter decided to show up to the job site! 😂🌨️

Nothing like a little first snowfall to keep things interesting in the landscaping world!

One day we’re moving dirt and making progress… the next we’re wondering if we should be reaching for the dirt shovels or the snow shovels! 🤷‍♀️😂

But hey, we’re Albertans! A little snow isn’t going to stop us just yet! 💪🌲

We’re still plugging away on our current project, making progress and keeping one eye on the job and the other on the forecast. 👀❄️

Will we get another few weeks of landscaping weather? Will winter move in for good? Will we be back in T-shirts next week?

Your guess is as good as ours! 😂

For now, we’ll just keep doing what we do best… making outdoor spaces beautiful, one unpredictable Alberta weather day at a time!

🍂❄️ Landscape FX — Apparently, landscaping is a four-season adventure!

Check back for the completed project - hopefully next week!

A Little Rocky Mountain Inspiration, Right in Your Own Backyard!

There’s something truly special about working with natural materials and creating a landscape that feels like it belongs in its surroundings.

This recent backyard transformation was all about restructuring an existing landscape, working with what was already there, and bringing new life and function to the space.

Projects like this come with their own unique challenges. Unlike starting with a blank canvas, restructuring an established landscape requires careful planning, creativity, patience and plenty of hands-on labour.

Working with natural stone is an art in itself. Every piece is different in shape, size and character. Selecting, moving, fitting and placing each stone takes considerably more time and physical effort than working with manufactured materials, but the finished result is worth it.

From the rugged stone retaining walls and natural rock features to the patio and surrounding landscape, this backyard has a beautiful Rocky Mountain-inspired feel.

It’s the kind of craftsmanship that takes time, attention to detail and a whole lot of hard work — and we’re proud of how it came together.

As we approach the end of another landscaping season, it’s projects like these that remind us why we love what we do.

The temperatures are getting cooler both day and night and many people stop watering their shrubs and trees this time of year.

If you have newly planted shrubs and trees it is imperative that you continue watering right up until ground freeze which is generally well into end of October.

Fall deep watering is beneficial for established trees and shrubs as well.

So don’t put that hose away just yet!!!

Well due to the weather this is as far as we got today. Just like that it went from dryish to flooded and from clear to my wipers not keeping up!

We do our best to stay on schedule and keep our quote appointments but some days it’s just not in our control.

Today is one of those days so I’m going to embrace it and get caught up on some inside work.

Stay dry, stay warm and lets hope for some sunshine soon ☀️
