Wondering when you should test for radon?
1. The Ideal Time of Year for Radon Testing is

3. After any recent structural changes, particularly if cracks appear in the foundation or if there has been significant settling or shifting.

4. Radon testing is also a critical step in the real estate process, whether you are buying or selling a home.

5. How Often Should You Re-Test for Radon?
Regular radon testing is essential for maintaining a safe home environment, even if initial tests show low radon levels. Experts recommend re-testing every 2-5 years to account for any changes that might affect radon levels over time.

6. For homes that have had a radon mitigation system installed, re-testing is also crucial. After installation, a follow-up test can be used to confirm the system’s effectiveness in reducing radon levels to a safe range. Ongoing tests every few years will continue to verify the system’s performance, as shifts in the home’s structure or minor adjustments to the mitigation system could impact its efficiency.
