⚠️ **Protect Your Family from Carbon Monoxide Poisoning** 🚨
The last **two homes we inspected** had cracked heat exchangers leaking dangerous concentrations of carbon monoxide into the home.
Carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning is measured in **parts per million (ppm)** in the air and by **carboxyhemoglobin (COHb)** levels in the blood. Approximate exposure risks include:
• **0–9 ppm:** Generally considered a safe indoor level
• **10–35 ppm:** Headache or fatigue may occur with prolonged exposure
• **100–200 ppm:** Dizziness, nausea, and severe headache may develop within hours
• **200–400 ppm:** Severe confusion and vomiting; serious health risk
• **400–800 ppm:** Disorientation, collapse, and loss of consciousness
• **800+ ppm:** Critical exposure that can rapidly become life-threatening
CO is **colourless, odourless, and impossible to detect without proper equipment**. If your CO alarm sounds or anyone experiences symptoms, leave immediately and call emergency services.
