The roof is going on at BCIT: British Columbia Institute of Technology's Robert Bosa Carpentry Pavilion in Burnaby.

With the mass timber structure and second level now in place, our team has moved on to enclosing the building, bringing this two-storey facility one step closer to complete. Once finished, the Pavilion will house BCIT's new Mass Timber Construction training program, combining a mass timber frame with light wood-frame interior walls.

It's a great milestone to see, and there's still more to come as the project continues to take shape.

A delayed schedule is one of the biggest risks on any construction project, and it's rarely caused by a single issue. It's usually a chain reaction, one missed handoff between subcontractors throwing off everything downstream.

Progress continues at BCIT: British Columbia Institute of Technology's Robert Bosa Carpentry Pavilion in Burnaby.

With the first mass timber columns now in place, our team has moved on to installing the second level of this two-storey building. The structure combines a mass timber frame with light wood-frame interior walls, and will house BCIT's new Mass Timber Construction training program once complete.

It's rewarding to see this one come together floor by floor, especially a project built to train the next generation of BC's tradespeople.

NuFrame is proud to be part of the team bringing BCIT's Robert Bosa Carpentry Pavilion to life in Burnaby.

The two-storey building combines a mass timber structure with light wood-frame interior walls, and will house BCIT's new Mass Timber Construction training program once complete. The Pavilion is part of BCIT: British Columbia Institute of Technology's larger Trades and Technology Complex, and is targeting LEED Gold and Passive House certification.

This month marked an exciting milestone on site: our first mass timber delivery, followed by the installation of the building's columns. Watching a project like this take shape, piece by piece, is always rewarding, especially one built to train the next generation of BC's tradespeople.
