It's that time of year again... The temperature is going to dip over the next few days 🌡️❄️

Be sure to drain and shut off your outdoor taps. Frozen pipes can break and cause major damage in the house once the water melts.

Many shut off valve are located under basement bathroom sinks, crawl spaces or under the basement stairs. You should have as many shut off valves as you have number of outdoor taps.
First turn your outdoor tap on. Then go inside and open the valve, you will need a little bowl and a towel to catch any extra water. Once it is drained, closer the valves and turn off the outdoor tap. For extra protection you can cover your taps with a styrofoam cover (available at hardware stores, see picture below).

An instant hedge! This customer had a space they needed immediate privacy so we planted 10 foot cedars.
Then along the bottom of the property healthy 8 foot cedars replaced a few dead ones. This really helps keep the traffic noise down.
A huge job with great results.

Do you have underground irrigation??
If you have not already done so, it's time to turn it off.

Before the temperatures dip any lower you also need to get your system winterized. Water lines need to be 'blown out' so the water doesn't freeze and crack the pipes.
