For our current project, we decided to tackle the "Verzahnter Balken" (Sorry, not sure what's the English term for this type of beam 😊).

This historical technique goes back centuries as a way to achieve large spans using only natural timber and clever geometry.

By carving matching teeth into two beams and bolting them together, we prevent "shear" (the beams sliding past each other).

It took a lot of patience and precision cutting, but seeing this historical technique come to life on a modern job site is incredibly rewarding. 🪚✨
