Today, members of the MSN team joined the Timmins Witch’s Walk, which raises awareness about violence against women and funds for Timmins and Area Women in Crisis. MSN was proud to sponsor the event, because Women should be able to go for a walk at night, camp alone, or simply live their lives without having to plan around fear. That should not be a privilege.

Ending violence against women is everyone’s responsibility, and it starts with teaching boys and men about respect for women, consent and accountability.

Thank you to Chief Jennifer C. Constant, the many organizers, the Timmins Native Friendship Centre, Timmins Police Services, all the sponsors and everyone who took part.

Women deserve more than sympathy after harm is done. They deserve to live without fear.

Yesterday, we joined hundreds of community members for the Orange Shirt Day Walk at the Timmins Native Friendship Centre in recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

We walked together to honour residential school Survivors and their families, remember the children who never returned home, and reflect on the lasting impacts that continue to be felt today.

Thank you to the organizers and everyone who came together in a spirit of truth, learning and reconciliation.

Every Child Matters. 🧡
