Crow Excavating is looking for an administrative assistant one day per week. Candidates must be computer literate, demonstrate excellent writing skills and pay attention to details. Basic book keeping skills would be an asset, including experience with SAGE. This is a part flexible time position that could expand based on interests and experience. The candidate will be a local resident committed to long term employment. Knowledge and interest in the construction industry is helpful but not mandatory provided there is a willingness to learn. Crow Excavating does need, from time to time, to add workers to our crew for seasonal work, or through specific projects. Crow Excavating specialises in residential excavation, services, groundwork, concrete, trail building, and light commercial projects. These are factors we would consider when evaluating candidates:
• Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent
• Experience operating heavy equipment in a construction environment
• Class 1 BCDL, alternatively Class 3 with Airbrake Endorsement
• Ability to understand and follow instructions
• Knowledge of and ability to adhere to safety requirements and procedures
• Ability to keep accurate and neat records
• Mechanical skills are an asset
• Polite, hard-working, motivated and willing to work well in a team environment

Duties include:
• Operate excavators and bobcat skid steer loaders to excavate, load and grade rock, gravel or other materials during construction and related activities
• Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment and clean, lubricate and refill equipment
• Clean and organizes shop and yard as needed
• Performs maintenance checks, light duty maintenance of equipment, and routine repairs
• Manual Labour including shovelling, raking and laying pipe
• Drive Gravel Truck, delivering materials, transporting and loading equipment.

Applicants should be aware that a Clean Drivers Abstract is required. Short term housing can be a challenge in Tofino, parking for a RV may be available
