Whitebox Construction & Demolition is proud to be supporting the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation(), .jc.oliver Vanessa Oliver and 4 other Canadians who are currently spending 100 hours at the top flagpoles across Canada to raise awareness and funds for Diabetes as this year marks 100 years since the life-saving discovery of insulin by Canadian Drs. Banting & Best in Toronto in 1922. Vanessa is following in her father, Peter's footsteps who did the same thing 30 years ago following Vanessa's diagnosis.
Similarly, just over 15 years ago, Whitebox's president and founder Tim Paton also received a life changing diagnosis - Type 1 Diabetes. Now Tim plays an integral role in the JDRF Real Estate Challenge, which raises money for diabetes research. Tim's and Whitebox's hope is that people of all ages with diabetes will soon be able to enjoy happy, active, normal lives. To make history again, five brave Canadians impacted by T1D will live atop a 40-foot flagpole in cities across the country as part of JDRF’s Let’s Make History Again event. They will do this for 100 hours beginning on April 4, to help raise $15 million for JDRF’s Campaign. The public is welcome to stop by and show their support.
