The best time to protect a wood fence is before it starts looking damaged.

This brand new fence is being treated with a clear oil, so the natural colour and grain of the wood stay visible while the wood gets the protection it needs.

Without protection, sun and moisture can slowly dry out, fade, and crack the wood. Regular oiling helps slow that process and can extend the life of the fence.

Protecting new wood now is a lot cheaper than replacing damaged wood later.

Leaving wood unprotected is usually a lot more expensive than protecting it in the first place.

Sun, rain, and moisture slowly dry out and weather exposed wood. Over time, that can lead to fading, cracking, splitting, and damage that oil alone can no longer fix.

Oiling helps protect the wood and extend its life before it reaches that point. Once the wood is too far gone, restoration may no longer be an option and replacement can cost thousands more.

A little maintenance now can save a much bigger bill later.
