Steep slope. No easy access. Still need survey-grade data? We've got you.

Difficult terrain doesn't scare us, it's kind of our thing.

For this project, our team surveyed a steep, uneven slope most people would call "too hard to reach." We got in, captured accurate topographic data, and got the client exactly what they needed. No shortcuts. No guesswork.

Because when the terrain gets tricky, that's usually when accurate data matters most.

Hard site? That's the job.

Most people only think of calling a surveyor when there's already a problem. By then, it's usually more complicated than it needed to be.

The reality is, a surveyor should be one of your first calls not your last. Whether you're buying land, planning a development, resolving a boundary dispute, subdividing a property, or building infrastructure from the ground up, accurate survey data is what every decision ties back to.

And when it comes to large-scale projects like rail corridors, subway alignments, and transit expansions, that precision becomes even more critical. We're talking millimetre-level accuracy in environments where a small error can mean safety risks, regulatory setbacks, and costs that grow fast.

From the planning stage all the way through construction, our job is to make sure your project is built on a solid foundation, literally and technically.

Property Bar Adventures

"The property bars should be right around here..."
Mission accepted.
A little walking...
A little measuring...
A little digging through old survey plans...
๐Ÿค” "...Unless the property bar packed up and moved?"
๐ŸŽ‰ Found it!

Property bars may be small, but they're the unsung heroes of land surveying. Hidden just below the surface, they help define property boundaries and provide the foundation for accurate surveys.

Every survey has its adventure... and sometimes the greatest treasure is only a few inches underground. ๐Ÿ†

Meet the Rouse Surveyorsโ€™ furry coworkers!

They may not know how to read a survey plan or set up a total station, but they certainly know how to keep the team company, bring a little joy to the workday, and improve morale.

Say hello to Milo, Charlie, Chewy, Mark, Nina, Ozzy Harry and Archie the four-legged members of the Rouse team!

Milo may no longer be with us, but heโ€™ll always be part of the Rouse family. โค๏ธ

They work remotely, take plenty of breaks, and somehow never get asked to join a Teams call.

If you've ever searched for a property survey, you've probably realized there's more than one type.

Boundary Survey. Topographic Survey. SRPR. Plan of Survey. House Package...

They all sound similar, but each serves a different purpose.

Choosing the right survey depends on what you're planning, whether you're buying or selling a home, building an addition, designing a new project, or starting new construction. Getting the wrong survey can lead to unnecessary costs, delays, or having to start the process over.

That's why one of the first questions we ask isn't "Which survey do you want?" It's "What are you trying to accomplish?"

Once we understand your project, we can recommend the survey that fits your needs, nothing more, nothing less.

Swipe through the carousel to learn the differences, and if you're still unsure, send us a message. We're always happy to point you in the right direction.

The right survey starts with the right conversation.

Not every project happens under open skies.

Deep underground, our teams work in challenging environments where safety, precision, and attention to detail are essential. Supporting subway construction means adapting to unique conditions while ensuring every measurement is completed with care.

Surveying: where breathing becomes a precision issue.
Trying to center the bubble while my hand remembers every coffee I've had today.

Be honest: whatโ€™s under more pressure, the bubble or your patience?

If you've ever searched for a property survey, you've probably realized there's more than one type.

Every construction project starts with a plan, but every stage of that plan depends on having the right information.

A common misconception is that one survey does everything. In reality, different surveys serve different purposes throughout the life of a project.

๐Ÿ“ A Topographic Survey helps engineers and architects design with accurate existing site conditions.

๐Ÿ“ A Construction Layout Survey transfers the design to the field so crews know exactly where to build.

๐Ÿ“ An As-Built Survey documents what was actually constructed for record drawings and project closeout.

๐Ÿ“ 3D Laser Scanning captures millions of measurements to create highly detailed existing conditions, making it ideal for renovations, volume calculations, and complex sites.

๐Ÿ“ Control Surveys establish the reference points that keep every measurement consistent throughout the project.

๐Ÿ“ Rail & Right-of-Way Surveys provide the precision needed for transportation and corridor infrastructure.

The right survey doesn't just produce data, it helps reduce rework, improve coordination, and keep projects moving with confidence.

If you're unsure which survey your project needs, we'll help you determine the right solution for your stage of construction.

Can we talk about this for a second, every project has a whole story that starts before anyone even picks up a measurement tool, like genuinely before ANY of it.

And behind the scenes there's planning, there's coordination, there's problem solving happening, there's an entire team making sure every single detail is ready before we even head into the field. But nobody sees any of this part...
