We don't get to do as many front yards as we'd like - so much of our work is hidden in back yards! Kudos to our client for the smart idea to use both Wood and Corton Steel to build a nice retaining wall and give us a nice level platform for all the nice new plants we have growing now!

Think there's no hope for your small front area? Maybe you just need some fresh eyes. We built a new planter box with perennials, garbage box to store bins and built benches on the new porch with storage underneath. Were able to hide the gas meter with a screen so they can still read the meter.

As much as we like planting, sometimes the projects are mainly functional - the front yard needed some structure that we addressed with a new wood retaining wall - The porch was too small to enjoy and certainly too narrow to get bikes in and out of the house - we built a new porch with steel stringers and added a bike ramp to make getting bikes in and out easier.

It's pretty common for clients to buy a new house and realize once the snow melts they've got a mess on their hands and not a ton of money to remedy it. The weeds were about 3 feet high! We built retaining walls for separate pea gravel areas and a new perennial bed. New grass and they've got a nice enteraining/BBQ/play space!

This was a fun project about 2 years ago - We took out the "lawn" and planted some really nice plants and a gorgeous Redbud tree. The bench/planting area has made for a good neighbourhood hangout, when we were there they were offering Milkweed seed pods from their garden.

Another backyard transformation - replaced fencing all around and added artificial turf and planters with native plants. We covered the garage and made the entrance more secure with new tall gates for both houses. This style of fence uses deck boards for more stability and works well for working around big trees.
