After all these years, are we really still concerned about ?

We sure are. Despite awareness of its dangers, asbestos is still the construction industry’s biggest occupational health hazard. It is the leading cause of fatal occupational illness in Ontario—and its widespread presence in older buildings makes it a particular hazard for workers involved with and activities.

Workers who may be exposed to asbestos should be trained in its safe abatement (and those who perform Type 3 operations must be certified to do so). But it’s always a good idea to refresh your memory before working in areas where asbestos may be present.
