We’re honoured to be shortlisted for the Canada Pavilion at the 2027 Venice Architecture Biennale.

Our proposal, Timber Futures, explores a return to the expressive intelligence of wood through Indigenous knowledge, contemporary practice, and emerging fabrication technologies.

Led by Heather Dubbeldam (Dubbeldam Architecture + Design), the team includes Matthew Hickey (Two Row Architect), Carla Dickof (Fast + Epp), AnnaLisa Meyboom (UBC), and David Correa (University of Waterloo), bringing together complementary perspectives in architectural practice, structural engineering, advanced fabrication, material research, and Indigenous knowledge.

Grateful to be shortlisted alongside such strong teams, and to the Canada Council for the Arts for the opportunity to be part of this process. We look forward to the next stage!architecture.biennale

From their debut in New York City this past October to the Toronto opening this week, our competition-winning designs for Teknion’s Advanced Concepts 2.0 have arrived in our home city.

Through PetPod, RoamStation, and Nimbus, our concepts explore new possibilities for the workplace that is no longer fixed, but fluid — shaped by users, responsive to change, and grounded in human experience.

Incredible to celebrate with such a strong turnout from the design community — thank you to everyone who joined us. And thank you to for the opportunity to bring these ideas to life.

The exhibition is open until May 8, by appointment.

Introducing Cosentino City Toronto.

Created in collaboration with Cosentino Spain, this new 4,200 sq ft downtown hub brings their design vision to life through immersive, real-scale environments. Cosentino’s newest surfaces are integrated into kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, and cladding, allowing visitors to understand their performance and potential through real-world applications. Designed to be more than a showroom, it’s a place for the design community to gather, exchange ideas, and explore material potential up close.

There’s been a clear shift in how luxury showrooms are conceived – they’ve evolved into immersive, experiential spaces that tell a story about how we live with design. Cosentino’s new Toronto showroom embodies this approach, presenting its surfacing materials in full-scale environments that blur the line between display and architecture. It’s not just about what luxury looks like, but how it feels.

More to come.

Introducing Advanced Concepts 2.0

We’re excited to share our winning designs for Teknion’s Advanced Concepts 2.0, a forward-looking initiative exploring the future of work. Invited by Teknion, a global leader in workplace design, our concepts respond to the evolving needs of today’s workforce, emphasizing flexibility, adaptability, and personalization to support new ways of working.

Nimbus – an adaptable architectural system that redefines workspace boundaries through kinetic, translucent pillars that shape light, sound, and atmosphere. Comprised of moveable, suspended, fabric-like elements, it creates a fluid and responsive environment that softens spatial divisions and enhances acoustic comfort while maintaining openness and connection.

RoamStation – The future of flexible work. A mobile, modular workstation that adapts to individual and team needs, supporting effortless transitions between focus and collaboration. Integrating sit-stand functionality, wireless charging, and autonomous docking, it enhances comfort, productivity, and well-being.

PetPod – A space-efficient addition to pet-friendly workplaces that fits seamlessly under most desks. It features a cozy cubby with a removable bed, built-in storage, an integrated HEPA, and a cushioned top for extra seating.

Advanced Concepts 2.0 is on display at Teknion’s New York Showroom (641 Avenue of the Americas, Second Floor) from October to December 2025, and will travel to Toronto in January 2026.

Wood is one of Canada’s most valuable natural resources, playing a crucial role not only in our ecosystems but also in the way we build for a sustainable future. Designed by Dubbeldam Architecture + Design, the multi-award-winning Bunkie on the Hill is a true celebration of wood, with every element of its construction crafted from this versatile material. From the structure and framing to the exterior cladding and interior finishes, FSC-certified wood is at the core of the design, showcasing its strength, beauty, and sustainability in every detail.

🌳Did you know that Canada leads the world in third-party forest certification, managing 36% of the
world’s certified forests, more than twice the certified area than any other country? Less than 1% of Canadian forests are harvested annually, and all forests harvested on public land are required by law to be regenerated. Canada’s forests are one of our greatest climate assets—when managed sustainably, they not only act as a critical carbon sink but also provide renewable materials for a lower-carbon built environment. By using sustainably sourced materials, our approach to design and construction can be a key solution in reducing our environmental impact.
